It has been a LONG time coming!! We have FINALLY redone our front entryway, effective TODAY!! I love it!!

Such a busy summer here, and a new plan for 2020 to make the Main House available for group rentals [only]. The Cottage is still available for couples/individuals, and is pet friendly. Stay tuned!!

Greetings from Kenwood Oaks Guest House! At long last and one month to the day from that smoky, scary Monday that we evacuated due to the Sonoma County Firestorm, I want to reach out and let those interested know how we're doing. First of all, I am so touched and grateful for the outpouring of communication and concern for us and for our entire community. While we here at Kenwood Oaks were so incredibly lucky to be able to come back to our structures, the lives of so many around us are forever changed. In many ways, the place that we once knew to be quiet, pastoral, small-town and joyful is struggling to regain its footing. Some of us are indeed suddenly homeless, and every step forward is a challenge. Others of us are opening our hearts and our homes in new ways to try and soothe the shock waves of our friends and neighbors. All of us are affected and effected. And, we are slowly and steadily emerging to be a community stronger than we ever imagined.

At Kenwood Oaks, we are only going to be renting out The Cottage for the foreseeable future. We feel that this gives visitors and Guests the best way to come and patronize our area while still being able to offer the rooms in the Main House to people locally who are in transition, need short-term housing, or perhaps just a place to stay close to where they are rebuilding for a bit. It's all pretty fluid now, but that's the plan. That said, please come and stay in The Cottage!! It is ideal for longer-term visits (3 nights +), so if you'd like to come and give Sonoma Valley a decent dose of love from the 'outside', we welcome you!!

Most businesses, wineries and one of our gorgeous parks were spared (Jack London State Historic Park in Glen Ellen). Fall is glorious here. Below are some photos that my Guests took this week while hiking with their dog at Jack London State Park! Please come and see us; we welcome you and would greatly appreciate your support. I am still somewhat baffled by the 'stats' that Facebook sends about what to do on our page BUT it is time to share some good news: the entire back deck has been cared for and refinished, stained, and sealed this week!! Sorry for those of you we had to turn away because there was no access to the house, but LOOK!!

Dear Visitors to our page~

Spring is in the air!! In just a few short days, we will post photos of a stunning new deck that we have been working on in between raindrops for the past few months. Please----come and see it LIVE!! You will be amazed.....:-)

Next up is that in 2016, we are planning to remodel our kitchen/great room. This MAY impact our ability to serve Guests in our trademark "wine country" fashion, complete with breakfast, wine & cheese gatherings, and indoor lounging. HOWEVER, the rooms will all still be available AND The Cottage will be untouched by this effort and ready for visitors all season! Updates to follow soon but if you go to our website and try to make a reservation, you will be asked to "Call Us". The possible remodel is the reason, so please don't hesitate and DO call us!! We will happily discuss your travel plans with you, and make every effort to accommodate you during the dates you desire.

Dear Visitors to our page~

As you can see, we do not visit our own page very often with updates (!!), but we are alive and well and going strong! 2014 was our best year ever, and please check us out on TripAdvisor for much more current news and views from our Guests!

We will be closed from March 8th - 25th, 2015 as, for the first time in 4 years, we will be taking a holiday of our own. Please come to stay with us for a bright and shiny visit after our return!
