Halfway through the week feels like a good time to slow things down. 🌊

Vacation doesn't always need a schedule. Some afternoons are better spent finding a comfortable place near the beach, bringing along a good book, watching the water, or talking with the people you came to the Keys to spend time with.

That's the kind of pace we appreciate here in Key Colony Beach.

When you're packing for the Florida Keys, it's easy to think swimsuit, flip-flops, and you're done.

We'd leave a little more room in that suitcase.

A hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, and a reusable water bottle can all come in handy when your plans include spending time outdoors or exploring different parts of the Keys.

It's also a good idea to check the weather forecast shortly before your trip. Florida weather can influence what you'll want with you on any particular day, and being prepared makes it easier to decide what kind of adventure you're having once you're here.

Most importantly, don't fill every minute of the vacation before you arrive.

Leave a little room in the schedule for an unexpected stop, a longer morning by the water, or an afternoon when everyone agrees that staying at the beach sounds better than going anywhere.

Sunday mornings feel a little different when the ocean is right outside. 🌊

There is something about waking up in Key Colony Beach, stepping outside, and taking in the colors of the water before the day really gets going. No complicated plans are needed. Sometimes the nicest part of a Florida Keys getaway is simply finding your favorite spot by the beach and staying there awhile.

At Glunz Ocean Beach Hotel & Resort, we love the quieter moments just as much as the big vacation adventures. A morning by the water, time together as a family, or simply sitting back and enjoying the view can be exactly what you needed.

There's no better way to end the week than hearing from someone who spent their getaway with us. 💙

One guest described their stay as an"Excellent weekend getaway," sharing:

"Great experience. Clean and comfortable room. Nice hotel amenities with everything we needed. Pool was very nice. Hotel staff very friendly."

Those words mean a lot to our family and our team.

Family trips have a way of creating the stories everyone keeps talking about long after the suitcases are unpacked.

For this week's package spotlight, we're keeping the youngest travelers in mind.

What if Wednesday's entire plan was simply to spend a little more time outside?

Our family-owned hotel sits beachfront in Key Colony Beach, with soft sand and turquoise water right outside. Guests can choose between the beach, two pools, or simply finding their own comfortable spot to slow down.

Bring the book you keep saying you're going to finish. Take a walk along the beach without worrying about how far you go. Put your feet up and catch up with someone you love.

Or don't do much of anything.

Vacations have a funny way of showing us how nice an unscheduled hour can feel. And somewhere in the middle of a busy week, we think that's worth remembering.

So from our little corner of Key Colony Beach, here's permission to make today's plans very, very simple.
