One of our favorite things about Saddleview Lodge is being able to leave the car parked and walk straight into the White River National Forest.

Last weekend we wandered onto Darwin and Cah-vah trails while the kids took one look at the dry trail conditions and immediately grabbed their mountain bikes instead. They rode from the house to the Keystone Gulch Trailhead, connected onto the Keystone Aqueduct Trail, then looped back to Saddleview Lodge by road.

The Keystone Aqueduct Trail follows an active aqueduct system, and in certain sections you can hear water moving underneath the trail while riding through the forest.

With the lower snowpack this year, many of the lower elevation trails around Keystone have been drying out earlier than they normally do in spring, which made for surprisingly good hiking and biking conditions for early May in the Colorado mountains.

Saddle up! The most exclusive saloon in Keystone is officially on the horizon.

In the Old West, the saloon was the social heartbeat of the town. It was the place to swap stories, celebrate a day on the trail, and reconnect. We are bringing that same spirit to the mountains with our upcoming loft renovation: The Saddleview Saloon.

We are working with behind the scenes to transform our upstairs loft into a moody, Western-inspired space for the whole group to enjoy.

Here is what you can look forward to when we open the doors:
* Gathering for poker, your favorite board games, or a puzzle at the 8 person table
* Foosball tournaments for those with a competitive side
* Setting the tone with some old-school vinyl to find the perfect mountain soundtrack
* Catching the game on the big screen while you hang out
* A curated bar lounge area for slow sipping and conversation

One of the biggest upgrades in this kitchen wasn’t something we changed. It was knowing what to keep.

The prior owners recently completed a beautiful kitchen remodel. The layout is designed to handle a group comfortably, with everything you need already in place. A 7 burner stove, double ovens, wine fridge, and ice maker are all there, ready to go.

The heavy lifting was already done, so all we needed to do was layer in our touch. To align with the rest of the freshly painted home, we’re updating the cabinet and wall color using chosen color palette, while keeping everything else intact. The image shown is a digital rendering of the actual space with those updates.

It’s the same kitchen that can handle early starts, quick resets, and shared dinners without missing a beat.

The picture window remains, looking out to the national forest. The view deserves its own moment, which we recently shared. You can find the full view in a recent post.

If the rest of the house disappears, you’re fine with it.

We asked what you wanted to see next, and the primary bedroom was the clear choice.

The space already has everything going for it. Spacious, set on the first floor, with an ensuite bathroom and a private deck that looks straight into the national forest. All the elements are there, but it hadn’t fully come together.

is taking what exists and shaping it into a space that actually feels as good as the setting around it, the kind of room you don’t rush out of.
