A dedicated leader and team member since 2011, Michael's diligence and standards-driven approach have played an integral role in the success and achievements of the Five-Star Sanctuary hotel. Michael originally joined The Sanctuary in Guest Services and was promoted to Front Office Manager, then Director of Rooms, where he has led with passion for the last nine years.

From boardrooms to base camps, our Director of Northeast Sales, Leo Marien, has reached incredible new heights!

Leo completed the legendary Everest Base Camp trek, climbing to an altitude of 5,364 meters over an unforgettable 14-day journey. Along the way, he experienced breathtaking Himalayan peaks, vibrant Sherpa culture, and the ultimate test of endurance. This trek took him through lush forests, rugged trails, and the iconic Khumbu Glacier, with highlights like sunrise over Mt. Everest at Kala Patthar.

What an incredible achievement, Leo! Congratulations on pushing limits and leading by example—we’re proud to see Kiawah Island Golf Resort represented on such an incredible journey! 🌍🏔️
