Please pray for all people along the East Coast who were impacted by Hurricane Matthew. As I am no longer the owner of The Seattle Sailor I do not specifically know how much damage the cottage sustained but I do know there was flooding between the highways in OBX. I know that neighbors on either side of me sustained considerable water damage.

I closed on The Seattle Sailor this morning. An era has ended. It has been in the Johnson/Annas family for the past 37 years. Most of the time it was a private second home. However I managed the property rental from 2009-2015, even during the time Pat had cancer starting in May 2012. Last fall we placed it in property management with Seaside Vacations. After losing Pat in early March 2016 I knew it was time to sell. It is bittersweet but I know I have made the right decision. I need to reduce the stress in my life and this is a step in the right direction. I just learned this afternoon that the owners of Mama Kwan's Resturant were the buyers. That is next to Puzza Hut and their office is across the street from my next door neighbor. Small world.

One of the top 10 beach days of the summer. Took a little break from packing the last of my personal items from the cottage. Went to one of my favorite spots on the deck at Capt'n Andy's at the Nag's Head Fishing pier.

Bittersweet day but I am ready for new adventures and have already booked my upcoming OBX vacation at The Salty Shrimp for Ms. Sophie and I!! The OBX is in my blood and always will be!

Received my 2nd contract on the cottage within the first 72 hours on MLS. The first one fell through....hope this one sticks.

The SEATTLE SAILOR is now FOR SALE by owner. The comps. are in and I'm ready to sell!! If you have already expressed an interest in purchasing the cottage I have already sent you 2 emails. One with information re: the cottage and one with the comps. I am taking bids on the cottage until June 15, 2016. If I do not have a solid contract in hand by that date I will be listing it with a realtor.

I already have several interested parties, so I am very hopeful for a quick sale.

"This Saturday, May 21, we will be offering a “Pick Your Price!” deal day for Seaside Vacations guests who book a weeklong stay with us this season. On May 21 only, guests can call into our office and propose a rate for their desired week.
Our guest services team will field these calls and contact homeowners of requested properties to verify whether a reasonable offer will be accepted or countered."

I ask for your thoughts and prayers again. Pat's sister Linda passed away suddenly yesterday morning at her home in Midlothian, VA. Our family is grieving the loss of 3 siblings in the past 6 months : Jimmy Annas 11-11-15: my hubby Pat Annas 3-6-16 and Linda Annas James 5-17-16. Our family had many happy times at The Seattle Sailor and we will miss their laughter and love. Please keep us in your thoughts in the coming days and weeks.

We are now being managed by Seaside Realty. We are cottage 5216. Same great place with all linens and cleaning provided. Other perks available too like stocking the kitchen prior to your arrival. Just think how nice it would be not to have to drag all those groceries from home or hit the grocery stores as soon as you arrive. Priceless!
