This orange cat is a long time resident at Harris Teeter and likes to hang out underneath this car...which coincidentally belongs to a mobile cat groomer 😺

This sweet cat also lives at the Outer Banks Beach Club in Kill Devil Hills NC. I don’t know her name so I call her Little Girl. Her ear is tipped so she has been spayed and vaccinated ❤️⛱️🐈

UPDATE: She is an outdoor local cat and is taken care of, they call her Yotey 😺

Someone recently vacationing in Waves NC reached out regarding this cat. She said it has cat fight injuries and a skin rash that looks like it’s been growing for quite some time. Last located by 25213 Mac-Oca Dr Waves, NC 27959. I'm hoping to find it's owner or a rescuer on Hatteras Island.

Well I tried today with the Special Needs Cat, gonna call it Scooter for now, I think it’s a male but I don’t know for sure. If you watch until the end you will see how he scoots. He looks pitiful, bless his heart 🐾❤️
EDITING to add that this cat is feral, the injury is old, and it has lived here for years.

This Special Needs Cat lives outside of the Outer Banks Beach Club in Kill Devil Hills. She/He cannot move it's back legs and has to scoot to get around. A manager who currently feeds the ferals there believes the cat was hit by a car several years ago.
I know we have some wonderful animal rescuers in the Outer Banks and surrounding areas. If you know of one please tag them, I would like their suggestions on helping this furbaby. I'm hoping there is someone who is experienced with special needs animals. As far as I know, this cat has always lived outside. Thank you!

Please send some healthy vibes ~ the Outer Banks SPCA has recently identified several illnesses impacting the kittens and cats at the shelter 🙏🐾

Cat adoptions and intakes are on hold at the Outer Banks SPCA as they deal with several illnesses among their cats and kittens.

“Since mid-June, kittens began showing symptoms such as lethargy, unsteadiness in their movement, diarrhea, and general signs of weakness. While the actual illnesses have yet to be determined, extensive veterinary consultation and laboratory testing indicates the illnesses to be viral in nature,” the SPCA said in a post.

The animal shelter is closing their cat rooms to the public for the rest of the week and is temporarily pausing all cat intakes and adoptions. In a social media post, the SPCA said they will reevaluate the situation on Monday and give updates then.
