Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day 2026, the Alexandria Police Youth Camp pauses to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten. As we continue to mentor and inspire the next generation through our camp programs, we also carry forward the legacy of those who gave everything while protecting others.

We remember the fallen.
We support the living.
We honor their legacy today and every day.

If you’ve been to the polar plunge in recent years I can guarantee you’ve seen our board member, Charlie, take the plunge while holding the flag.
Unfortunately, with the plunge being postponed, he will not be able to make the new date, but still held up his commitment to brave the cold.

What's an easy way to remember the different types of precipitation? Donuts!

Rain is just liquid rain above 32°F. Sleet is an ice pellet that bounces. It's NOT hail! That's a thunderstorm thing.

Freezing rain is liquid rain that freezes after it gets to the ground. This creates a glaze on surfaces and trees. It MUST be 32 or below for freezing rain to occur.

And of course, snow we're all familiar with.

Now I'm hungry... If you see me eating 4 hot donuts, no you didn't... 😂
