AN IMPORTANT SAGE PARACON ANNOUNCEMENT - THE FINAL SAGE PARACON!
I’ve been thinking about how to write this for a while, because it’s a decision I’ve actually been thinking about for the last couple of years, and it wasn’t an easy one to make.
This October, Sage Paracon USA at Belle Grove Plantation will be my FINAL Sage Paracon.
I know how much so many of you love these events, and I also know that some of you have been coming to them and supporting them for years. This was such a hard and emotional choice, but I want to be really clear about why I’ve made this decision and what it means for everything else.
First of all, I’m not going anywhere, and I’m not stopping everything. You can’t get rid of me that easily! 😉
I’ll continue hosting my Dark Departures tours throughout 2027, although at this stage I’m not sure whether I’ll be adding any more beyond those already planned. I’ll also still host a few public paranormal investigations during 2027, but these will be significantly reduced.
Essentially, I’m beginning to phase out the large-scale events side of what I do, and there are a few reasons for that.
Some of it has to do with the direction the paranormal field has taken and the fact that I’m ready to move in a slightly different direction myself. But more than anything, I’ve reached a point where I have so many other projects I’m genuinely passionate about that need more of my time, energy and focus.
I have books I desperately want to finish. I have ideas and projects that have been sitting waiting for me to give them the attention they deserve. I have so much that I want to create, share, and build with my Patreon Sage Tribe community.
The reality is that organising events takes an enormous amount of time and energy behind the scenes. I’ve found myself struggling to give these other projects the attention they deserve because so much of my working life is taken up by event organisation.
Something had to change.
There’s also a personal side to this decision. I want a better balance between my work and my home life. This year has been a real eye-opener for me, and I’ve realised just how much I’ve been missing out on because I’m working 24/7. I no longer want every minute of my life swallowed up by organising the next event, the next trip or the next deadline.
Over the last few months, I’ve been thinking about what that means and what it looks like for me. When I thought seriously about where I actually want to put that time and energy, the answer was very clear.
I want to write, and I want to spend more time building the Sage Tribe community on Patreon.
Patreon is going to become a much bigger focus for me moving forward. I want it to be the dedicated Home of the Sage Tribe, somewhere I can share more of my work, research, investigations, workshops, writing, behind-the-scenes content and all of the strange things I discover along the way.
There will still be Patreon-exclusive events.
We’ll still have our annual Sage Tribe Patreon get-together, online events and, whenever I’m able to arrange them, exclusive in-person investigations and other experiences for members. I’m not walking away from getting together with you. I’m simply changing the way I do it.
This will also give me a lot more time for our online hangouts too!
I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported Sage Paracon and my events over the years.
Those events helped grow something I never could have anticipated when all of this began. They brought people together, created friendships and adventures, and helped the Sage Tribe grow into a community that has become a HUGE part of my life.
This is not an ending so much as a change in direction, and I’d love it if you’d join me for the next chapter. I want to give the Sage Tribe a dedicated home and the time, energy, and attention it deserves.
The paranormal field has become inundated with crap. Toxic trolling, infighting, low-quality paranormal content, and far more “noise” than there used to be. I don’t want to keep pouring my energy into that noise.
By removing the larger events, I’m creating more time and space for the things I actually want to make next. More books, more writing, more research, more Patreon content, and more time with the Sage Tribe.
I want to put my effort into creating a Sage Tribe space where you’ll have access to my work without having to fight through all of that noise to find it.
Hopefully, this will also create a much healthier balance between the work I love and actually having a life outside of it.
But before all of that…
WE HAVE ONE LAST SAGE PARACON!
So, if you’ve ever thought about coming to Sage Paracon USA, this October is your last chance.
I honestly can’t think of a more fitting place to bring this chapter to a close than Belle Grove Plantation in Virginia. We’re going to spend one final weekend together doing exactly what Sage Paracon was created for, bringing people together through our shared love of the paranormal, making memories, investigating, learning, laughing far too much and probably getting very little sleep.
So if you’ve been sitting on the fence thinking, “I’ll come to the next one…”
There won’t be a next one.
Sage Paracon USA at Belle Grove Plantation will be the last Sage Paracon.
So let’s make it count.
To every speaker, investigator, guest, volunteer, venue, friend and member of the Sage Tribe who has been part of this ridiculous adventure over the years: I cannot thank you enough.
None of this would have been possible if it weren’t for you guys.
I mean that.
You made Sage Paracon what it became, and I will always be grateful for that.
Now it’s time for the next chapter.
But first…
Let’s go out with a bang. 🖤
Much love,
MJ
