Skiing is a metaphor for life's journey - sometimes smooth, sometimes challenging, but always exhilarating when you embrace the ride 🎿⛷️

Thankfully, Santosha is a stone's throw away from the largest ski resort in Maine, so . . . you know where to find us when we're not in the yoga shala. 😎🤙🏻

Residency applications for the 2024 Cohort I (May 12-24, 2024) are due by March 15, 2024. Residents are selected on a rolling basis; all applicants selected as residents will be notified on or before March 22, 2024. Consistent with the enduring Fishouse philosophy to support emerging writers, Hillholm prioritizes awards to applicants with two or fewer significant publications of writing, at any stage in their careers. Unlike prior Fishouse offerings, Hillholm accepts writers of any written medium, not just poetry.

Applications should include:
1.     Up to five pages of writing samples
2.     A letter of intent for your time in residency
3.     Curriculum vitae
4.     Two written references

All expenses (full room and board) of Hillholm residents are supported by endowed scholarship. The residents’ only expenses include beverages purchased in the Lounge; Healing Arts services selected by each resident, if any; laundry services; and gratuities.

Our Story

Kingfield, like many small towns, means different things to different people. It is certainly a warm and friendly community-- where everyone has time to talk, where you feel relaxed, safe, and secure. Our inn has 20 beautiful guest rooms each filled with modern amenities, decorated according to the traditions of the building. If you are looking for accommodations with a modern flair, our barn building offers contemporary comfort. Those looking for a historic experience will enjoy our authentically preserved sleeping quarters with Victorian furnishings and pressed tin ceilings. Relax and unwind in our inviting lounge, located in the lobby. Exquisitely comfortable couches and chairs pepper the naturally lit space. Settle in with a cup of tea in front of the warm fireplace or sip on an original shrub cocktail while taking in the sweeping views of majestic maple trees.

Our kitchen offers delicious meals prepared with ingredients sourced as locally and seasonally as possible. Enjoy activities in Kingfield like hiking, ATV’ing, beautiful foliage, fishing, canoeing and kayaking, biking, snowmobiling, hunting, zip lines, and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and skating. We look forward to your stay with us at the inn.
