Spring means one of our favorite traditions is back!

Falmouth High School returned to Flagstaff Lake Hut for their annual volunteer overnight. This year they stacked wood, cleaned up the grounds, and prepped life jackets for the season ahead.

These students show up year after year, and it means everything to us. Thank you, Falmouth!

Late April marked our first trip of the season to Grand Falls Hut after the snow receded. This visit had a clear mission: test the hut’s electrical system, since the old lead-acid batteries have officially reached the end of their run. Teaming up with Maine Solar Solutions, we tested the hut’s electrical system using a portable lithium-ion battery… and the lights turned on! A simple moment, but a major milestone for this remote location.

The crew also checked trails, bridges, and paddling gear. As with any trip to Grand Falls, time is always made time to visit the stunning namesake waterfall.

A productive, inspiring start to the season and exciting progress ahead! Visit mainehuts.org/news to read the full blog post.

Forest & Forage is back for year four at Maine Huts & Trails with a deep dive into plant identification and the natural world.

Set at Flagstaff Lake Hut July 11-12th, this immersive getaway invites you to explore Maine’s ecosystem, discover native plants and fungi, and unwind with a cozy lodge stay and multi-course dinner.

We’re excited to welcome Registered Maine Guide Tori Gray, who will lead a guided foraging walk to the hut and host an afternoon herbal tea session. Plus, Chef Frank Giglio of Farm & Forage Kitchen will craft our signature Forager’s Dinner.

Learn, explore, and relax in one incredible experience. Visit mainehuts.org/event for details and to book.
