A decade.

Ten years ago there was a storm on Memorial Day weekend, the first weekend of ownership. Fast forward through new roofs, paint, floors, linens, ACs, TVs, stoves, toilets, beds, decor. Nearly 200 coffee pots. The addition of a chicken coop, RV Park and more cabins in 2017. A lawsuit that stole 50 feet of the Valentine footprint. A new dock, fishing pier and lawn terraces after the 2018 flood. Concrete where kudzu had been, opening a swim area and water toy rentals.

Snowmaggedon.
Covid.
Hydrilla.
The Eclipse.
An economic rollercoaster.

Resurfacing of the pool. Addition of the sky deck and more boat lifts. Another flood in 2025 that took out the new fishing pier. The removal of unit #10. Too many plumbing, electrical and other repairs to count.

A hundred family reunions. Four weddings. Two marriage proposals. A half dozen celebrations of life. Countless new Valententian babies and birthdays. Winter Texans sharing their joys and perspectives. Families making memories. A sale that didn’t happen. Two epic 60th birthday celebrations. A recommitment to this magical dirt.

It’s a great, challenging life. Thank you for making this decade possible. We look forward to being your home away from home for years to come.

Our Lucky Lunker event was SO much fun! We raised money for charity, introduced kids to bass fishing, exposed new families to the charms of Visitkingslandtx Visit Llano County and Valentine Lakeside, witnessed a phenomenal jam session by john Arthur martinez, Mike Blakely Music & Books, and friends, were moved by the harp and voice of Kristen Gibbs, ate great grub and had rad merch from Abear Designs & Printing. Thank you to the incredible sponsors (see tags). Oh, and we celebrated Pat Muller's 60th birthday.
