Marshall County just went under a BURN BAND.

Because of the conditions please do not burn until this is lifted. It will not take anything for a controlled burn to get out of hand. This puts a strain on all our Fire Departments and just not worth the risk.

The Sheriffs Office will respond to calls of burning during the burn band and take appropriate action.

We want to thank everyone for their cooperation during this burn band.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Steve Meazell, co-owner of Sunset View RV Resort, on July 17.

Steve was more than the owner of our resort—he was the heart behind it. Alongside his wife, Peggy, he designed and built Sunset View RV Resort from the ground up. Together, they poured countless hours of hard work, dedication, and love into creating a place where families, friends, and travelers could feel at home. Steve believed in doing things right, and his personal touch can be seen throughout the resort.

Steve was a devoted husband, father, Pawpaw, son, and friend. He had a kind heart, a strong work ethic, and a genuine love for people. He touched the lives of so many through his generosity, his smile, and his willingness to lend a helping hand.

We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support shown to our family during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a tremendous comfort.

Steve’s legacy will live on in the memories we shared, the lives he touched, and the beautiful place he and Peggy built together.

Please keep Peggy, their family, and all who loved Steve in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
