Riverside Rediscovered will be a vibrant, inspiring destination that is representative of its community’s shared values, based on the triple bottom line of being economically, socially and environmentally beneficial. While it is preliminary to detail specific product elements as the co-creation of a development vision is just underway, Renaissance Downtowns has begun initial outreach efforts, including the launch of the Riverside Rediscovered crowdsourced placemaking community. This redevelopment effort promises to complement the growing downtown across the river in Riverhead, NY, while creating a true gateway to both the North and South forks of Long Island. Renaissance’s goal is to create a vibrant mix of uses to provide residential, retail and commercial uses that will benefit both the local community while helping to catalyze the region socially and economically, while respecting the beautiful surrounding environment.
