How amazing … When you can walk out your front door and watch (we weren’t sure if we heard the double sonic boom ) a Falcon 9 heavy launch from Cape Canaveral. There’s so much more to Florida than the theme parks.

Falcon Heavy's two side boosters fly back and land about 9 miles south of the pad at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Because they touch down within seconds of each other.

The payload: NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, headed to an orbit near the Sun-Earth L2 point, about 930,000 miles out. Roman studies dark energy, dark matter, and exoplanets with a field of view far wider than Hubble's, per NASA.

A good week to be at the villa to watch the launches from the Space coast

Weather officers put the odds at 60% favorable as of Friday's readiness review — timing could still shift. (Source: NASA)

TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT FOR THE LUNAR ECLIPSE!

Get ready to look up as Earth's deep shadow will cover almost the entire moon tonight! Most of the Central and Eastern U.S. will have prime viewing for the entire event, while folks out West will catch the show starting right around moonrise. The partial eclipse will officially begin at 9:33 pm CDT and will peak around 11:13 pm CDT, which is when almost the entire lunar surface will be cast in that rusty red color! The shadow will then slowly recede until the event completely wraps up at 12:53 am. This will be the last lunar eclipse of this magnitude until 2029!
