TRI-CIRCLE-D RANCH FORT WILDERNESS
I  took the little boat from Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness Campground to check on the horses one afternoon last visit. It is here that all of the horses utilized at the Disney parks are kept and cared for.
When my favourite (the one with a blue and a brown eye) was not in the stalls, I inquired only to find out that he had just recently retired and was living a lovely life in a meadow not too far from Walt Disney World. How could I be sad about that? (Yet, I’m not going to lie, I kind of was 😔)
Anytime I have gone to the barn, there are always little ones waiting to ride the ponies. Although often hesitant to get in the saddle, it is not long before they are beaming… and I mean BEAMING!
Sometimes the Littles are dressed in cowboy/cowgirl costume. Sometimes they are dressed as princesses. This particular afternoon, the little girl was not dressed in costume, but had braids similar to those on the ponies. It was worth noting.
Also worth noting is the contrast between how well groomed the ponies were this particular very warm afternoon and how it looked like Red, the big Belgian, had just awakened from a nap. That guy definitely needs conditioner in his hair.
