THERE’S A NEW KID IN TOWN
CONNECT 4 has joined our game collection, and so far everybody’s getting along. Games like this, Shoots and Ladders, Sorry, Headbanz and Kids Charades are intergenerational and fun.

Game rules are simple (typically taped inside the game box) and the number of game pieces kept in baggies and numbered for your convenience.

Traditional board games are an opportunity for children to take a break from their screening devices and for older people (like me) to take a trip down memory lane… having played many of the same games as a kid.

For those of us who do not get to enjoy outdoor living for a good part of the year, it’s really nice to be able to play these games poolside (free of mosquitoes). Our guests frequently comment how many of their memories are made right here. 💦

TRUTH: don’t be afraid to pull these games out and play them yourselves once the kids have gone to bed. 😉

JUNE WH ACTIVITY CALENDAR
June… when the warm evenings have you out on the lanai believing summer might just last forever.

ACTIVITIES: June is going to be filled with lots of activities at the clubhouse. Apart from the numerous fun, regular activities and movie showings, there will be a Summer Bash on Friday, June 5 from 12-2pm followed by a DJ and games; he will be returning 3-5pm every Friday this month. The balloon man is back on Thursday, June 18 from 12–2 p.m. (❤️ that guy) and there is henna from 12–2 p.m. on Thursday, June 25 . Be sure to check out all of the activities by scanning the QR code here or in the photo frame on the villa entry table.

WORLD CUP ACTION: You can always enjoy viewing the World Cup games from the comfort of the Villa/Villa Lanai. ( FOX Sports 1 (FS1) channel 99). However, if you enjoy being part of a larger audience viewing party, feel free to catch the games in the breezeway at the clubhouse.

PHOTOS
We had not yet updated our lanai photos since putting in the lanai extension before Christmas. We decided to do it last minute on this trip. 😳😳

We suggested the idea yesterday to our management company, and their photographer was available for 9 AM this morning for the ‘day shoot’. YIKES!!

Needless to say, I was scrambling last night to put a few accessories together. Here is a glimpse off my camera.
He is back for the night shoot at this evening.

I wish I was better at staging. Very much a minimalist (no surprise to anyone who knows me).

SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER…
AND THAT MEANS DANCE PARTIES 
Walt Disney World is heavily leaning into “Cool KIDS’ SUMMER” this year, running from May 26 through September 8, 2026, with kid-focused entertainment, dance parties, characters, hands-on play areas, and new family attractions across all four parks plus Disney Springs.

Based on Disney promotion and early fan discussion, the biggest kid draws appear to be:

1. Bluey’s Wild World at Animal Kingdom
2. Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!
3. Jessie’s Roundup at Magic Kingdom
4. GoofyCore at EPCOT
5. Muppets Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster for older kids

MISSED THE VIRTUAL QUEUE
As an annual passholder, I had an opportunity when I was at Hollywood Studios last Thursday to try to get into the virtual queue that signalled the soft opening for the new Muppet ride that opened officially today. Needless to say, I wasn’t quick enough on the trigger and did not get on the ride. Apparently, even those who made the queue were delayed significantly as the ride was down for part of the day .

The new Muppet coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is officially called Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. It replaces the longtime Aerosmith version of Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster and opened May 26, 2026.

Instead of racing across Los Angeles with Aerosmith, you are now helping The Electric Mayhem get to their huge Hollywood concert on time. Scooter is trying to manage the chaos while Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal, Dr. Teeth, Floyd, Janice, and the rest of the gang create total mayhem.

The coaster itself is still the same intense ride system: Launch from 0–57 mph in seconds, three inversions, dark indoor high-speed track and stretch limousines as ride vehicles.

The old G-Force Records studio has been “taken over” by the Muppets. Disney added a new psychedelic guitar entrance, ecording studio scenes with Electric Mayhem, penguin sound engineers and a brand-new Audio-animatronics Scooter figure using motion-capture technology

The soundtrack is one of the biggest upgrades. The ride uses Muppet-performed rock songs and celebrity collaborations.

I have a feeling it is going to be a very popular ride. I’ll make another attempt next time I’m here to get on it.

The ride is located at the end of Sunset Boulevard in the same courtyard as Villains Unfairly Ever After.

OH MY GOSH! JUST GO
Disney is definitely upping its game when it comes to their new shows at Hollywood Studios.

I had my first opportunity to see VILLAINS UNFAIRLY EVER AFTER . It is an 18 minute show in an air-conditioned large audience performance venue. The visuals are spectacular as is the live performer interaction.

The premise is that some Disney villains make their way through the looking glass to plead their case; they feel they have been unfairly treated and are not so villainess after all… or are they?

Audience participation is encouraged.

VILLAINS UNFAIRLY EVER AFTER is located beside the new Muppet Rock’n Roller Coaster at the end of Sunset Boulevard (just head toward the tower of terror).
