Any of us that are specialists in real estate tried to warn buyers because Airbnb didn't do anything about learning the housing restrictions in different states and communities. In Florida there are designated communities for short term rental/vacation homes. When you buy a home to rent as airbnb or short term rental you must license it as a hotel motel. That way if a guest refuses to leave, you are backed by Florida law. The police can remove the squatters. But...if you simply disregard the current laws and try to do airbnb or short term rental without being property licensed, this is what happens. It takes an act of God to remove squatters that refuse to leave.
This is why you need a Lic. Real Estate Broker that specializes in short term rental properties.
