Ever wonder what it feels like to actually play Running Y's course, not just see it in photos?

Greg, our General Manager, took us out to hole 13 for a full playthrough. Watching him read the terrain, talk through his shot selection, and navigate one of the more interesting holes on the course is a reminder that golf here isn't just a round.

That's the thing about Running Y. A single round turns into two. Two rounds turn into a weekend. And before you know it, you're already planning the next trip before you've left.

Hole 17 at Running Y is a par 5 that makes you think... and then think again.

At up to 535 yards with a wide open tee box, it looks inviting. But then the dogleg shows itself.

Long hitters get to decide whether to challenge the corner and set up a real run at the green. Shorter hitters face a different kind of choice: lay up safely just short, or take on the waste area that guards that corner turn.

And either way, three bunkers are waiting around the green to settle any overconfidence.

It's the kind of hole you replay in your head on the drive home, going over every shot.

Aggressive off the tee or calculated all the way in? How would you play?

This is a real, unedited walkthrough of one of our vacation rentals at Running Y Resort. No tricky angles, no overproduction. Just an honest look at the kind of space you and your people could be relaxing in this summer.

Room to breathe. A full kitchen. Enough space that everyone isn't on top of each other. It's the kind of place that lets a trip actually feel like a trip.

Summer fills up earlier than most people expect. If a stay like this is on your radar, now's a good time to take a look.

There's a moment when you pull up to the first tee and realize this round is going to be different. This is one of those times.

June tee times are still available if you want to beat the summer rush. July is prime time for getting the crew together for warm days, great golf, and a basecamp worth staying in for a few nights.

You step to the tee, see the fairway dropping away in front of you, and for a second it feels generous.

That's when hole 16 introduces you to the trees pinching in on both sides. Then the bunkers. Suddenly that downhill advantage feels like a test.

This par 4 plays anywhere from 320 to 446 yards depending on where you tee it up but the yardage isn't really the point. The point is accuracy. Hit it where you're supposed to hit it, and the hole opens up. Miss, and it has a way of reminding you.

It's the kind of hole you're still talking about over dinner.

Have you played 16 yet? What's your strategy off the tee?

Every great adventure needs a great place to come home to at the end of the day.

We're pulling back the curtain on one of our lodge suites because where you stay shapes how you feel the whole trip.

Imagine settling in after a round of golf, a long trail, or a morning watching wildlife along the lake. Warm, spacious, and everything you need to slow down and actually be present.

This is what nights at Running Y feels like from the moment you walk through the door.

Take a look inside, then plan your Southern Oregon escape:

Crystal clear water, neon green moss, and pure tranquility. Spring Creek is a literal hidden gem 💦🛶

If you’re looking for the ultimate day trip from the Running Y, this is it! Mike from made things easy by dropping off a paddle board and kayak right at the Resort. He gave us a quick tutorial and sent us on our way. The rest of our day was spent enjoying the pure magic that is Spring Creek.

A note for your journey: Spring Creek is a beautiful, fragile ecosystem and holds profound cultural significance for the Klamath Tribes. If you visit, please practice Leave No Trace. Keep the waters clean, respect the wildlife, and honor the indigenous heritage of this sacred space.
