๐ฆ California's oldest zoo โ and it's right in the heart of Eureka.
Sequoia Park Zoo has been open since 1907, making it the oldest zoo in the state and one of the smallest accredited zoos in the country. It sits inside a 60-acre old-growth redwood forest, alongside Eureka's largest public playground and a duck pond โ so a visit doubles as a walk in the woods.
While you're there, don't miss the Redwood Sky Walk, located right inside the zoo, where you can experience the forest canopy from a whole new perspective. The zoo is also home to red pandas, including resident favorite Saffron.
