What a summer, we were so busy I could barely keep up! Here’s a wrap up of some of our favorite memories from the summer of 2023! Bo took over the garden and provided some great veggies for our meals! Our annual fishing trip to Lake Ontario filled the freezer with lots of fish and our time at the lake house was full of family and relaxation! Kip and I got away for a couple of trips together and had lots of fun with great friends in Nashville and at the lake. The farm kept everyone busy throughout the summer and before we knew it the kids were heading back to school. Katie is a senior and making plans for college. Bo is in 8th grade and can’t wait for his wood shop and farming classes this year! Volleyball season is in full swing and Kip and the kids are busy getting ready for hunting season. I don’t see things slowing down anytime soon, but the house does get pretty quiet when they all hit the woods so maybe I’ll keep up with sharing our adventures a little better!!!

It’s been a bit so there’s lots to share but I’ll do my best to keep it short! Rogers took his first trip to school with Bo as a service dog and loved every minute of it! Speaking of school, Bo’s hard work payed off and he was inducted into the Junior National Honor Society, we are so proud of him for working hard even when it might be tough! Kip went on a listing appointment with me and found a familiar sign on the property, here’s hoping there’s some great hunting waiting for the next owners! Kip Adams, Katie and the CV Lady Indians softball team enjoyed a win that earned them the NTL championship title but I’m not sure what the girls were more excited about, the title or the coaches agreeing to be in their BeReal post. The look on their faces is priceless, good job coaches!!! Kip and Bo spent a day at the Cowanesque Valley NDA annual youth field day where kids got to see wildlife up close thanks to our local Pennsylvania game warden who brought a bear for some fantastic learning; what an experience for the kids! Last in our adventures this time is a trip around the property putting up trail marking signs for guests that led us to the Sherriff’s Station, otherwise known as the old TV tower and an awesome lookout on the property. While we were in that neck of the woods we stopped by the Doan air strip to enjoy some great music at The Local; thanks John Doan for providing the great entertainment!!!

So much fun to share! A couple of closings put a smile on my face and then a trip to Lodge at the Lake on Lamoka for Kip’s birthday kept the spirits high! He picked Casa Mezcal in Bath, NY for his birthday lunch and we were not disappointed, cheers to another year!!! Katie and the CV Lady Indians softball team kept the wins coming so “Coach Adams” continued with the high spirits! We had the honor of meeting Nate Hosie and in addition to being a genuinely nice guy and PA native he’s an awesome singer and even played one of my favorite songs for us per Bo’s request! I would highly recommend checking him out, you won’t be disappointed!! Katie went to her junior year prom and (of course) found a way to bring their love for hunting into the evening! After all that fun we had to get back to work... time to set up the Mountain Top Retreat “Glamping” Tent for the summer at the best look out spot on the property. All hands were on deck and Kip was full of lots of lessons as always. So glad our kids get to learn from the best! Stay tuned and check out more at adamsadventures.net !

What a week…Katie started spring gobbler season out with a “bang” on opening day! We spent a day later in the week at Lodge at the Lake on Lamoka; Bo finally got to do some fishing from the dock, Kip mowed and I did some mulching. Is it just me or does it seem like the kids should be doing more work and less play while Kip and I do more play and less work🤷🏻‍♀️🤣???!!! Can’t wait to try out the corn hole boards we dropped off; big thanks to Garry Abbott at Just Wood In The Barn. Later in the week Bo and Rogers took and passed the Public Access Test taken at Bass Pro Shop in Harrisburg making them an official service dog team!!!! Bo thought we should celebrate with a fishing boat but we settled on Dairy Queen on the way home instead😉! Kip, Katie and the Lady Indians Varsity Softball Team enjoyed a couple of wins on the field when the rain held out and Bo finished off the week with another “bang” filling his gobbler tag! Just when we thought things couldn’t possibly get any more exciting we had a visit from Penelec after Edgewood Lodge (otherwise known as “camp” and “Field 4”) blew a dinosaur transformer and needed an update. I’m hoping Bo sticks with farming as a future aspiration because my heart can’t handle him climbing poles for a living!!! Big shout out to the Penelec team that came out so quickly to get us back up and running, our guests from Long Island certainly appreciated it as much as we did!!!! I did warn you to buckle up, it’s a crazy ride in the Adams’ Adventures! Stay tuned for the next edition🤣!!!
