9.23.26 update

Contractors are working very hard at Kuhio Shores. The first floor units are undergoing removal of water damaged items. The parking lot is being used as a dumpster area and Lāwai road still needs to be repaired. But there is good news!

The Kukuiula shopping center is open along with most of the restaurants nearby. The farmers market has restarted! The surfers are back at it in front of Kuhio Shores and everyone helping has been extremely friendly!

9.17.26 update

So much has happened in a short period of time! The turtles have returned to Poipu Beach. Kukuiula shopping center and restaurants have reopened. Keokis paradise is open again. The bottom floor units at Kuhio Shores have been stripped down to studs and were boarded up. They will stay boarded up until the new doors and windows arrive. Water and power have been restored to the building. If you have a stay planned at Kuhio Shores soon I would check with the owner to be sure power and water were restored to their unit as they are turning power on to each unit individually to make sure there are no water leaks or electrical issues. Kauai looks forward to welcoming guests in most parts of the island. The north shore is still without power in some areas so if you plan to travel north I would find local information.

9.10.26 update
The parking lot at Kuhio Shores is looking good! They have removed the trees, appliances, and household debris. People are coming together to help with clean up efforts. We still don’t have power but are told that should be back up by next week. So thankful for the first responders and those at the power and water companies who are working tirelessly to get things back up and running while also navigating their personal devastation ❤️ Kindness wins every time.

We have received an update from Kuhio Shores staff and on site owners that the entire first floor units suffered severe damage. Other units throughout lost windows and some other minor damage. At this time we are focusing on how we can pull our resources together and help our friends and neighbors on the island. Our unit did not sustain any damage from what we have been told. The roads are being repaired and electricity should be restored in the next couple weeks.

Our hearts are aching for those who have lost everything in this hurricane and we want to help rebuild! More updates as things progress.

Aloha and thank you to those who have reached out to check in 💕 As of right now we have limited information. We know that Kuhio Shores has sustained significant damage and 91% of the island is without power. The airport is still closed but may reopen later today. I will update as I receive more information later today! We continue to pray for the residents and guests on the island. Mahalo 🌈🌺
