In an effort to provide a better and more sustainable OHV program, the New North Cumberland WMA OHV permit will go live on July 1, 2026. The funding generated from this permit will be directly reinvested back into the North Cumberland WMA to assist in enhancing trail maintenance, mitigate water quality issues, and overall provide a better experience for the users.
Under the new law, at least one adult per any type of vehicle that is on OHV designated trails, is required to possess either a valid NCWMA OHV riding permit, or a Sportsman Supplemental Annual NCWMA OHV permit, or a NCWMA OHV guide permit.
Annual and Lifetime Sportsman licenses still cover all hunting and fishing but do not authorize OHV use in NCWMA.
