🎁 Support Oldham County FOP Lodge 62 — Shop With a Cop 2025! 🎄
On December 13th, our officers will once again partner with local kids for our annual Shop With a Cop event—one of the most meaningful days of the year for our lodge and our community.

What is Shop With a Cop?
This program pairs local law enforcement officers with local children and families in need for a special holiday shopping trip. Kids get to pick out gifts they might not otherwise receive, and they also get to build positive relationships with the officers who serve our community. It’s a day filled with joy, confidence-building, and memories that last long after the holidays.

✨ How You Can Help
This event is funded entirely through community donations. If you’d like to help us brighten a child’s holiday season, please consider making a contribution. Every dollar goes toward giving local kids a Christmas to remember.

LAGRANGE POLICE DEPARTMENT
FALLEN HERO
GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

In the early morning hours of April 16, 2003 at approximately 02:45 AM Officer Eddie Mundo Jr. had been dispatched to the scene of a domestic violence disturbance on Oakview Ave in La Grange, KY. Before arriving at the scene, the dispatcher advised Officer Mundo that the suspect, Porter, had left the scene. Officer Mundo was also given a description of the vehicle Porter was driving. It was believed Porter would be headed towards Henry County KY. Officer Mundo, in an attempt to intercept Porter, headed east on Jericho Road looking for the vehicle Porter was driving. Officer Mundo did not locate Porter’s vehicle, turned around and was headed back into town when around a sharp curve, Porter who was under the influence of alcohol and narcotics, crossed the center line striking Officer Mundo’s police cruiser head on. Officer Mundo made the ultimate sacrifice and was killed instantly in the crash. Porter left the scene on foot and was located hours later in a field about a mile from the scene of the crash.

Porter plead guilty to Manslaughter 2nd Degree, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Operator Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs. He was sentenced to a total of 11 years and 30 days in prison.

Officer Mundo left behind his wife, their one year old son, and a grieving community.

"Thank you for your service to our community.”
