Glamping 101
For those who don’t know, glamping is upscale camping. It’s a huge canvas tent or yurt already set on a deck with rugs on the floor, art on the walls, lighting and furnishings. There’s usually a queen or king size bed with linens, a dresser, a small table & chairs, and a charging station for your electronics. There’s even a mini frig, microwave, coffee pot and a cooking surface in some. Many have full bathrooms with showers! It’s basically a hotel room in the beauty and serenity of the great outdoors.

This was how we got internet signal in the rural mountain area of Utah in May of 2022. Luckily, it’s been two years since we started building our campground, and Emery Fiber has come through so we are getting high speed fiber internet for our campground and customers this month!

The move from Illinois to Utah was not without challenges. We shredded a tire on the RV which caused the tire next to it to blow (which sounds like a shotgun going off in the back seat of the truck) in case you’ve never had this happen to you. We came across wildfires in the mountains of Colorado that were a little scary. I knew we should’ve taken that left turn at Albuquerque! (Didn’t Bugs Bunny say that!) and then our truck, Gerdy, decide to quit. (RIP Gerdy, you were a good truck!)
