Charlie's Market is a historic locally-owned mainstay here in La Veta. There is a soda fountain and a deli. The meat market has a nice variety and the produce is always fresh.

It's an easy walk to town for a malt and to read the flyers in the window to find out what's going on in town.

After spending a few days with us at La Veta Pines and enjoying the local offerings, you may not want to go back to the big name stores. Come for a visit and see for yourself.

There are only three spots left for the "Art in the Park" Fourth of July weekend. It's going to be so much fun. We are working on a few special offerings for all campers through that weekend.

These La Veta Pines RV Park stickers are also going, going, going. And when they are gone, then that's it.

A rebranding is in the works and new stickers will be on the shelves soon. So, if you want what will someday be a collectors vintage sticker, you should book a stay. Every camper that comes for a stay gets one for free until they are gone.

You can book through the website, or by calling us at (719)742-3252.

We look forward to seeing you.

Today, as every Thursday through the summer, is the La Veta Farmers Market from 3-5pm next to the Library on main. Just a short walk from your door to get your veggies and flowers and meat and treats.

Tonight at La Veta Mercantile is "An Evening with Tom Voss - Healing from PTSD and Moral Injury". It is from 6-8pm. $10 donation suggested.

Friday night there is live music on the deck at the Cuchara Yacht Club featuring Sunshine Boy from 5-8pm. Then on Saturday they have Rodney Branigan also at 5-8pm.

You can also check out music at The Dog Bar on Saturday in Cuchara starting at 8:30pm.

We love this area as there is always something for everyone's interests. Hiking, biking, fishing, music, history, art. We look forward to providing you with a wonderful place to call home while you explore our town and surrounding area.

One of the many benefits of a stay at La Veta Pines RV Park is the proximity to many amazing points of interest.

The Great Sand Dunes National Park is just a 66 mile drive west of La Veta. You drive over La Veta Pass and go through historic Fort Garland. The view of Blanca Peak is in sight for many miles. The visitor center is worth stopping in. As with most all National Parks there is a bevy of educational information to be had.

You can find sand boards for the kids to have fun on the dunes at a place called the Oasis on Hwy 150. Of course that means a hike and a climb up the hill first. You can also get a bite to eat or a cold drink there too.

Alamosa isn't far out of the way and the little town of Crestone is not much further as well. Both have points of interest and places to find a bite to eat.

Our camp hosts often go out exploring the area, so feel free to ask them about points of interest or day trips. They are happy to share about their outings and what they've experienced in their own explorations.
