grew up in a house with four different rooms of sound — gospel on the radio, his father's blues guitar, his brother's drum kit, his mother's worn-in 90s R&B tapes. All of it still shows up somewhere in what he makes now.

The Milwaukee-raised, Los Angeles-based singer, guitarist, and producer found his footing through the Ruby Yacht collective before landing at , where his 2021 EP Drawing folded soul-jazz and mellow hip-hop into something quieter than either.

His 2025 debut album, Lushland, pushed that same instinct further — progressive R&B built for close listening rather than a room full of noise. He's also lent his voice and guitar to Sudan Archives' records, carrying that same patience into someone else's songs.

On September 3rd, he brings a live duo to Casa Loma Beach Hotel. We hope to see you there.

Before he joins us at Casa Loma on 8/27, we spent a little time with — about the record he'd never sell, the first one he ever bought, and what's still finding him now.

Revolver came first — the album he bought with his own money, long before , before any of it. Los Angeles came after, and stayed: its myriad creative communities have shaped how he makes music as much as any single record has.

If his collection ever had to be reduced to one, there wouldn't be much debate. Alice Coltrane's World Galaxy — the record he'd never sell, no matter what.

Lately, it's Mario Rui Silva's "Kazum-Zum-Zum" on rotation. A small reminder that the discovery never really stops, even for someone who's spent a lifetime chasing it.

On 8/27, at 6pm, he brings some of that same listening to Casal Loma.

Some names arrive with static — genre tags, credentials, a stage. 's doesn't need any of it.

Mark "Frosty" McNeill has spent over two decades building , the Los Angeles radio station that turned listening into a kind of gathering. He's sat across from Björk, Lee "Scratch" Perry, and Laurie Anderson. He carried Alice Coltrane's devotional recordings into a documentary, then a record, then a room full of people listening together. These days he's a creative producer for the .

has been one of our closest partners on the road — two projects built on the same belief, that listening deserves its own space.

On August 27th at 6pm, he joins us at Casa Loma Beach Hotel.

A quiet room. A record collection built over a lifetime. Songs chosen the way a letter is written — for someone in particular.
