Aloha Napili Sunset Guests, A planned Hawaiian Electric public safety power shutoff is affecting parts of West Maui due to high wind and wildfire risk. Impacted areas may include Lahaina, Kāʻanapali, Kahana, and Kapalua. Power outages may last several hours and restoration times can vary depending on weather and safety conditions.
Guests should be prepared for temporary interruptions to electricity, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and some resort or property services. Hawaiian Electric crews will restore power as soon as conditions are safe.
For updates, guests can check the Hawaiian Electric outage map or contact their accommodation directly.

We are sharing the following update from Hawaiian Electric (HECO):

As of 3:00 p.m. HST on Sunday, February 15, 2026, Hawaiian Electric is monitoring developing weather conditions that may increase wildfire risk in parts of Maui County and Hawaiʻi Island later this week.
Customers in affected areas are urged to activate their emergency plans in case a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) becomes necessary. Please be prepared for the possibility of extended power outages from Monday through Thursday.
Proactive power shutoffs are sometimes implemented during periods of:
Strong winds
Low humidity
Dry vegetation near utility equipment
These conditions, particularly in areas such as West Maui and South Kohala (Hawaiʻi Island), can increase wildfire risk if power lines are damaged or debris contacts electrical equipment.
Additionally, a wind advisory issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect through 6:00 a.m. tomorrow. Even outside of the PSPS program, outages may occur due to high winds and related weather conditions.

Lo**ta has been part of the NS family for 27 years (28 years this June), Marilou for 26 years (celebrating 27 years this November), and Brianne for 5 years (6 years this March). Brianne Tuipulotu was born and raised on the island of Maui in the close-knit community of Nāpil‘i. She is the daughter of Soane and Michelle Tuipulotu and the youngest of three siblings, alongside Kailiann Tuipulotu-Ramos and Tyler Tuipulotu.
A devoted mother, Brianne is raising her child, Tupou Seini, and is joyfully expecting her second child in March 2026. Family remains at the heart of everything she does.
Brianne began her career at Nāpil‘i Sunset Resort in 2021 as a full-time Front Desk Agent. Through dedication, leadership, and a strong commitment to guest and owner relations, she advanced to Front Desk Manager overseeing Owner and Guest Services. In late 2025, she stepped into the role of Interim General Manager and officially assumed the position of General Manager in January 2026.
In her free time, Brianne enjoys spending quality time with her family, supporting her family-owned business, SMT Holdings LLC, and indulging in all of her favorite local foods.
Everyone, please help us congratulate Brianne on her well-deserved promotion and wish her continued success in her career!
