Cool story about Rubber Duck!

Today is the birth anniversary of C.W. McCall, the trucker persona of Bill Fries. Trained in advertising, Fries conceived the McCall character for a series of commercials. He first charted with the song “Wolf Creek Pass,” in which a driver tries to navigate the steep and winding mountain pass in Colorado. McCall was best known “Convoy,” a novelty ode to the CB radio craze which became a No. 1 pop and country smash in 1976. Fries later became mayor of the town of Ouray.
