The Lake City/Hinsdale County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the annual fireworks display will take place at Memorial Park on July 4th.

The current “Safer at Home” orders limits public gatherings to 10 people or less. Because of this, we respectfully ask that the public do not gather at Memorial or Town Parks to watch the fireworks.

The “Safer at Home” orders also do not allow parades to take place. As of right now, the Chamber will be following those orders and will not be organizing a parade at this time.

Also, due to the current orders limiting gathering sizes, we will not be permitted to proceed with our usual festivities at Town Park.

This announcement is not an easy one to make. We have evaluated the options from all sides and regret that at this time we are not able to plan for and offer more for you all to enjoy this Independence Day.

After completion of the CT scan, we were immediately summoned to meet the Dr. at her office. It was there we received the diagnosis. The Dr. had already scheduled a visit to the Oncologist and the Oncologist had already scheduled an appointment for the Biopsy. During the car ride to the Biopsy appointment you were silent. I looked over and said, what are you thinking? How are you feeling, you've been really quiet since this began? Your response is what keeps me from crumbling daily.
You: I have had a Great life. I have a Beautiful Family whom I love and I know loves me. Whatever GOD says is ok with me. ...I decided to post this message in support of a very special person to me who fought firmly and with good energy. Taught me to live every day as the best day! Now I'm looking at those who will have time to read this post until the end. This is a small test, just to see who reads and who shares without reading! If you read everything, select "like" so I can put a thank you on your profile. Cancer is very invasive and destructive to our body. It's a very long process. Please in honor of someone who died or is fighting cancer, or even had cancer but healed; copy and paste. Everyone says, "if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask, I'll be there for you."
So I'm going to make a challenge, I think less than half of my friends will put this on their wall. You just have to copy (not share). I want to know who I can count on. As soon as you do, write "done" in the comments.... Done

A prayer chain has been started. Will you join me in praying for containment of the coronavirus and that there will be no more deaths? Please pray for discovery of a treatment or cure today! Pray for God to guide the local and world leaders, corporate leaders, and educational and medical professionals, as they all guide us through this crisis. Please pray for our children and frail elderly, that God will calm their fears and protect them. Please pray for children out of school—children staying at home alone while parents work, children who won’t have enough to eat because they usually have free breakfast and lunch at school. Please pray for working parents who have no one to care for their children. Please pray for those who are paid hourly and are told that they will not be working right now, so they will not have income. Please pray for those who are sick, that they will be able to have the needed medical attention and soon be well. Pray all this in the name of Jesus with thanks for what HE is mighty to do

Well these are pictures of our trip back to Lake City. This was the scariest I have ever been. And yes I did cry say bad words and prayed Lord just get me home. And he did. Thank you Lord and forgive me for my language. I will always be prepared for traveling from this day forward.
