Lake Davis Fishing Report from Mike Pease Adventures Fly Fishing

I’ve been on the Lake a couple of days this last week and fly fishing is fair. A week ago fish were keying in mostly on blood midges. Damsels were beginning to show and are now showing up more often and fish are beginning to take them. There have been profuse callibaetis mayfly hatches in size 16 and 14. Some fish taking them on the surface and others you can get with a pheasant tail nymph. Water temps have been in the 60-64 degree range. Fish are spread out on the lake.

I fished at Lake Davis on Saturday 4/25/2026 I landed 19 fish. The fish were 15 to 18 inches. I was using Baby Simons,orange and the copper red at eight feet. The water temp was 54 degrees

I was at Lake Davis on Saturday checking out the boat ramps. At honker the gate is locked and there are two trees blocking the road to the ramp. Lightning tree is open to use but the dock is not in. Fishing at Mallard continues to be good.I talked to a gentleman that said to much snow to get to camp 5.

Ice Fishermen, has any one been out? How thick is the ice and where? Any luck?

Fishermen reported the ice is 2 1/2 inches at the dam this morning.

Remember it is up to you to decide if the ice is safe or not.
