Went to a concert at the new Shepard Park Bandstand last night. Are you kidding? Two different bands, both outstanding. The bandstand, stage, seating area, amphitheater and walkways are all completely remodeled and are stunning. Pure class.
Tell me where else within 500 miles the public can go to exceptional quality concerts with a stage and amphitheater like that and a view of the lake and mountains in the background. For free. Saratoga? Nope. Lake Placid? Nada. The Catskills? Try again. Long Island? Wrong. New Jersey? Zip. New York City? Duh.
This amazing accomplishment along with the Ironman Triathlon coming here next June has to make me believe Lake George is headed to another level entirely. Everyone who was involved in the Bandstand project and the Ironman Triathlon deserve to be commended.
It appears that the Shepard Park Bandstand hosts live music Mondays through Fridays in July and August. Unfortunately one has to search to find any information about this. Why aren’t the hotels, shops and other businesses being supplied with posters and other promotional aids to take better advantage of this incredible attraction?
