Who remembers the ’70s?

A little GA throwback! I recently rediscovered these old photos, and they bring back so many memories. This was back when the motel was still made up of individual cabins, before my father eventually transformed and connected them into the motel units so many of us remember.

I look at these photos with different eyes now. As kids, this was simply where we grew up. Now I see all the hard work, love, and heart our parents poured into their little motel, along with the extra-special hospitality they showed to so many of our favorite guests over the years.

It all started in 1969, and looking at these now reminds me just how many wonderful people became part of our GA family along the way.

And a special thank you to Nancy Sippie, who originally gave us these photos many years ago. Nancy and her lovely parents were always among our favorites, and of course, we can’t forget Brandy, their dog! 💕 So many great memories.
