Reservations for the 2026 camping season will begin on Tuesday January 20th at 10:00am online sign up for 30 days or longer camping. Reservation sign up for the first week will be for anyone booking 30 days or longer.
January 27th is the start date for anyone wanting to book for 7 days or longer.
Keep in mind, if you book for 30 days or longer, at a later date you will not be able to cancel a portion of your reservation, you will need to cancel the entire reservation.
There is no sub-leasing allowed at any County Park.
Reservation cancellation policy below including no shows and early check outs. The 2026 rates are also below.
I. ADVANCED REGISTRATION
1. Advanced reservations permitted in County Parks that allow camping.
Reservations must be for 7 or more continuous days, except for designated tenting
camp sites and Pre-Memorial Day Weekend and Post Labor Day, campsites
maybe rented by the day.
2. Camper’s reservations:
Effective January 20th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. ONLY On-Line camping reservations
will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.
Park Managers will have the discretion to place campers where they deem
appropriate to meet the needs of the campers and camp sites.
Subleasing of campsite(s) is not allowed and only those registered for the
campsite(s) are allowed to camp unless managers are notified and approval is
given.
Camping reservations payments are due at the time of the reservation. Payments
accepted by CREDIT CARD ONLY. Checks are no longer accepted.
Refundable Damage Deposit: A $75.00 is required when reserving a Camping
Cabin on Big Kandiyohi Lake County Park East Park.
Refund will be credited to the last credit card on file within 7-10 days of departure
pending inspection of our cleaning firm. IF DAMAGES AND/OR ADDITIONAL
CLEANING SERVICES EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF THE DAMAGE DEPOSIT
Kandiyohi County Parks reserves the right to charge the credit card on file
3. Seasonal Campers get the first seven days to register.
CAMPER RESERVATION CANCELLATION POLICY
More than 30-day Camper
1. If you cancel your reservation at least 60 days prior to your check in date
you will be refunded the amount paid minus a $30.00 cancellation processing fee
2. No refunds for cancellation of your reservation fewer than 60 days of your
check in date. No exceptions made.
Weekly Camper
1. If you cancel your reservation at least 30 days prior to reservation check
in date, you will be refunded the amount paid minus $30.00 cancellation fee
charge.
2. If cancellation or no shows are fewer than 30 days prior to reservation,
there is no refund.
NO REFUNDS for no shows or early check out for seasonal, 30-day campers, or weekly
campers.
III. CAMPING
1. Camper units may be left unattended for a period not to exceed 48 hours, except
monthly units at Big Kandiyohi Lake County Park West and East, Diamond Lake
County Park and Green Lake County Park.
2. One camping unit allowed per registration permit.
3. Subleasing of campsite(s) is not allowed and only those registered for the
campsite(s) are allowed to camp unless managers are notified and approval is given.
4. Due to safety concerns all minor children must be supervised at all times.
5. No physical hardware and/or signage is to be attached to county property or trees.
Violators will be removed and possibly charged for damages.
6. Quiet Hours are 11:00 p.m. to 7 a.m., daily
7. Generators not allowed when electricity is provided.
8. Fires are allowed only in fire rings or self-contained grills.
9. Firewood: Prevention of Tree Diseases: Unless you are a resident of Kandiyohi
County bringing in firewood from a source in Kandiyohi County, no firewood shall be
transported into, possessed, or burned in any Kandiyohi County park unless it bears
evidence that it is from a Department of Ag, approved vendor.
Kiln-dried, unpainted, unstained dimensional lumber (such as 2x4 or 4x6 scraps
from a building project) free of metal or other foreign substances. Pallet wood is
not approved firewood. Dimensional lumber does not require proof of purchase.
10. Park Manages reserves the right to remove campers who violate park rules, are
belligerent or abusive, and will be trespassed. Registered campers are responsible
for their guests’ behavior.
11. The total number of camping registrations allowed at any one time shall be:

12. Weapons:
It is unlawful for any person to possess explosives of any kind, which
includes ALL fireworks including legal Minnesota fireworks. It is also against
the law for any person to possess a firearm (including an air gun) unless the firearm
is unloaded and completely contained in a fully enclosed gun case or unloaded and
contained in the closed trunk of a vehicle. A person who is legally permitted under
MS 624.714 to carry a handgun in the State of Minnesota may legally carry that
handgun in county parks.
IV. VEHICLE PARKING
• One vehicle per campsite at no charge.
• Extra vehicles may park in designated parking areas at no charge.
• One camping unit allowed per registration permit
V. GOLF CART POLICY
Golf Carts can be used at Big Kandiyohi Lake County Park West, Big Kandiyohi Lake County Park East for elderly disability/medical use only and no one under the age of 16 can operate the cart. Golf
Carts, can be used until 1/2 hour before sunset.
ATV, UTV, and ORV are not permitted in the park except for maintenance use.
If ANY part of this agreement is violated and/or misused the policy will be suspended and
all suspensions will be final at ALL parks.
Campers should check with Park Managers at the time of registration regarding golf cart
rules for that park.
VI. TRAPPING AND HUNTING
At no time during the year will hunting or trapping be permitted, of any kind, on County Park
property.
VII. Big Kandiyohi Lake County Park East: Wildlife Management Area Access From Park
During the camping season only registered campers shall have access to and from the Fish
and Wildlife Management area that is adjoining to Big Kandiyohi Lake County Park East. No
drive through access will be allowed. Upon the closure of the park, at the end of the camping
season, access to the Fish and Wildlife Management area will be allowed by foot and through
the designated entrance areas. Individuals accessing the Fish and Wildlife Management area
must have Fi****ms encased and unloaded at all times while on park property. All hunting
laws must be followed.
VIII. ANIMALS
Animals with aggressive or vicious tendencies are not allowed in Kandiyohi County Parks
nor are wild or exotic animals including, without limitation, bears, wolves, lions, cougars,
bobcats or other large carnivores. Persons with such animals will be required to remove
the animal immediately. Failure to do so will result in loss of all park privileges. Any
person not leaving upon demand of the park manager shall be considered a trespasser.
Dogs: A dog’s leash length cannot cross the lot line of the campsite and into another
campsite and when walking a dog leash length cannot exceed six (6) feet. Campers failing
to clean up after pets can be charged a fee for clean up by park managers. Dog’s fees are
$1.00 per dog/per day based on reservation days of your campsite. (If you reserve a site
i.e. for 90 days you would need to pay $90.00 for your dog at the time of reservation)
IX. SHELTERS
• Shelters can be reserved online starting with the online registration date of January
21st
• A $40.00 advance reservation fee shall be charged.
