This beautiful mountain land near Lake Lure is now protected—and our goal is to make it part of the Hickory Nut Gorge State Trail. We bought this 49-acre tract as an anchor for future trails that will eventually link to Youngs Mountain, Buffalo Creek Park, W**d Patch Mountain Trail, and Chimney Rock State Park.

We will need to secure more land before we can start building trails. Still, it was a huge opportunity to acquire this property, which is right on the proposed route and ideal for a sustainable contour trail. The land is near neighborhoods on the lakeshore and would likely be developed if we hadn’t purchased it.

We are so grateful for your support and for funding from the NC Complete the Trails program, which allowed us to seize this opportunity! Thank you, North Carolina State Parks and Recreation!

We’ve got some exciting news… we’re back!

After exactly nine months of recovery since Hurricane Helene, Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park is officially reopening to the public on Friday, June 27.

Thank you for all your love and support during our closure. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this reopening possible. It’s been a long road, but we’re excited to have you back on the trails with us soon.

🎫 HEADS UP: Reservations will be required for all guests, including Annual Passholders. Initially, we’ll be open Friday–Monday and space will be limited as we get back up and running. Reservations go live in the coming weeks at chimneyrockpark.com.

️⚓️ FAE NECTAR RE-OPENS ON FRIDAY, MAY 23rd WITH A SWASHBUCKLIN' PIRATE PARTY! ️️⚓️

Join us as we set sail with Nelson’s Blood and our merrie maraudin’ emcee, Cap'N mOss, fer a night of rollickin’ sea shanties and medieval tunes, kicking off at 7PM, and the doors be open at 6PM!

Bring yer mates, slap on yer finest eyepatch and parrot, and come stomp, sing, and bellow along like a true buccaneer! Costumes be heartily welcomed but not required — the sea be callin’ all souls, pirate or landlubber alike!

The bar be flowin' with mead, beer, cider, wine, and a bounty of N/A drinks, and there will be tasty grub on deck as well!
This is a FREE event, open to pirates of all ages — and yer sea dogs be welcome too, so long as they be leashed!
