Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage, service, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Memorial Day Weekend brings two contrasting emotions. On one hand we celebrate the beginning of summer, the end of the school year, and this year, the opening of Lake Lure after extensive rebuilding and recovery following Hurricane Helene. We congregate with friends and family to enjoy the great outdoors, share meals, and enjoy the long weekend. We are deeply grateful for the freedom to enjoy the outdoors, share meals, and congregate freely with loved ones, none of this would be possible without the great sacrifice of over one million Americans in our history. Today is a solemn and reflective day where we honor those who sacrificed everything for our country, mourn with the families and friends who lost loved ones in service, and reflect deeply on the freedoms we often take for granted.

Purchase your tickets for the Lake Reopening Celebration today! Memorial Day Weekend is almost here... don’t miss our Lake Reopening Celebration on Saturday, May 23, as we celebrate Memorial Day, the lake’s reopening!

Join us from 6-10 pm for music, food and drinks, games, and best of all… fireworks! The DJ will begin at 6 pm and end at 9 pm, we will shut down swimming at 8 pm, and fireworks will start shortly after at sunset.

The beach will be open during the day, but will close at 4pm for firework setup.

Tickets include swimming, live music, and fireworks. There will be a food truck to purchase food and drinks and the Moose N Goose will be open serving food and drinks. See you there!
