One thing we notice over and over while traveling?

The places are incredible. But the people you experience them with are what make them unforgettable.

Years later, it’s not just the destination you remember. It’s the friend who convinced you to take the trip, the laughter over dinner, the unexpected detours, and the stories you’ll still be telling long after you’ve returned home.

Here’s to the friends who make every journey a little more memorable.

Happy Best Friends Day 💙

Somewhere between the ocean, the desert, and the silence, it’s easier to remember what actually matters.

Travel has a way of creating those moments.

Not because the destination magically changes anything, but because it gives us space to slow down, be present, and pay attention to the things that often get lost in the noise of everyday life.

The places themselves are beautiful, of course. But it’s usually the feeling they leave us with that stays long after we’ve returned home.

Here’s to making time for the moments that matter. ✨

This past Saturday, members of the Travel & Cruise Desk team joined our Client Concierge, Caitlin Weis, for the Columbia/Willamette Great Strides Walk in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The walk may be over, but our fundraising efforts continue.

To help support the cause, our partners at Delta Vacations have generously provided a $1,000 travel credit that will be awarded to one lucky supporter. Every $20 donation earns one entry for a chance to win.

You can make a donation and learn more about Caitlin's Great Strides story at tcdsk.com/endcf.

Special thanks to fellow Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce members Tony Buccola & son, Leo and Ray & Sue Hone for joining us on Saturday. We appreciate your support and the difference you're helping make.

Thank you to our friends Will and Jane Fendon from the Fendon Properties Team for hosting this morning’s Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce networking event.

As a fellow family-owned business, we always enjoy connecting with people who care deeply about this community and the relationships that make it special.

If you haven't already, be sure to check out Live Love Lake Oswego, the Fendons' video series highlighting the people, businesses, and stories that make Lake Oswego such a wonderful place to live and work. Earlier this year, Jamie Anderson joined them for a conversation about Travel & Cruise Desk's 60-year history, how travel has evolved, and how we've evolved alongside it while continuing to deliver the expertise and personalized service our clients value.

We're excited to keep the momentum going by hosting next Friday’s Lake Oswego Chamber networking event at Travel & Cruise Desk. We'd love to see you there for another great morning of conversation, connection, community, and travel!

While some travelers are keeping their exploration closer to home right now, others are making a different choice and experiencing something truly beyond.

This month for example, two of our clients returned from 14 days in Turkey celebrating their Anniversary. The kind of trip that's hard to put into words, so we'll let the images speak!

Trips like this are possible because of the relationships we've built with in-destination specialists who know these places inside and out. This allows our clients to travel confidently, and with the kind of local support and knowledge that makes all the difference!

They spent their first week in Istanbul; a city that never stops surprising you.

Private guided sightseeing through the Süleymaniye Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, and the Spice Bazaar. A Turkish hammam at the Ayasofya Hürrem Sultan. A cooking class where they learned to make mezze by hand. A food tour through the city's neighborhoods. Even a half-day across the Bosphorus to the Asian side.

Then on to Cappadocia. They explored the fairy chimneys of Pasabag Valley and the ancient cave town of Zelve, and settled into Sultan Cave Suites in Göreme. Early the next morning, they were up before sunrise for a hot air balloon flight over one of the most otherworldly landscapes on earth. Floating above the valleys as the sky turned gold. It's the kind of moment that's impossible to fully prepare someone for, but one that they'll never forget!

Then before flying home, a final return to Istanbul to visit the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and the Basilica Cistern. A perfect close to 14 days that felt both full and unhurried.

If Turkey or something similar is calling you, we'd love to help you Experience Beyond 🕌.

Destination Weddings have become about so much more than just getting married somewhere beautiful.

For many couples, it’s a chance to slow down, spend real quality time with the people closest to them, and create an experience that feels intentional from start to finish.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that Destination Weddings are more complicated, but in many cases they can actually simplify the process. Especially when ceremony spaces, accommodations, and on-site coordination are all connected in one place.

One of the biggest ways we support our couples is by handling the travel logistics for guests: contracting room blocks, flights, transfers, deadlines, and communication so the couple can stay focused on the wedding itself instead of managing travel questions and moving pieces.

At the end of the day, it becomes more than a wedding... it becomes a shared experience people remember and talk about for years.

We’ll be sharing more Destination Wedding insights throughout the month leading up to the Portland Bridal & Wedding Expo!

If you or someone you know is considering one, now’s a great time to start exploring the possibilities for 2027 and beyond!

Happy Travel Advisor Appreciation Day ✈️

We feel incredibly lucky to do what we do.

Helping clients plan meaningful trips, celebrate important moments, explore new places, and create memories with the people they love is something we never take for granted.

There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes to make travel feel seamless and we genuinely love being part of that process.

More than anything, we’re grateful for the trust our clients place in us and for the relationships we’ve built along the way.

Thank you for letting us be a part of your journeys!
