NY is back in business ... time to celebrate!!

Firework display to begin at 9:15 PM in Lake Placid and nine other sites across the state in Celebration of Reaching COVID-19 Milestone.

We invite the Lake Placid Community and Visitors to the area to enjoy a fireworks display in celebration of reaching 70 percent of New York adults receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Community members and guests are invited to watch near and around Mirror Lake!

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo said "As we celebrate lifting restrictions and resuming our reimagined normal, we also reflect on the hard work of New York State’s essential workers and we remember those we lost. New Yorkers have always been tough, but this last year has proven just how tough they are. Congratulations, New Yorkers, on all that your hard work has accomplished.”

Cobble hill is a great little hike and the trailhead is an easy walk from our Inn!

Cobble Hill Parking and trail head changes have been made. As outlined in the photo there is a “new” trailhead for Cobble Hill on Mt Whitney Road. Due to changes at Northwood School the parking for Cobble Hill is now officially to simply park on Main Street, Lake Placid and walk the scenic 0.5 miles around Mirror Lake to the trailhead (or get dropped off) on Mt. Whitney road, the dirt road right next to Northwood school (and the “old” trailhead parking lot). I’m aware there are a few parking spaces along the road at Mt Whitney road however the powers that be, and the private land owners who allow us access to hike this Lake Placid gem, have asked hikers to utilize street parking on Main Street. Fortunately the walk around Mirror Lake is quite scenic and now you can also easily explore some shops on Main Street, grab a sandwich, and support small ADK businesses.
