The trolley will drop passengers on the side of 107 at the entrance to the dam release.

Departing from Happs Place: 9:00 AM, 9:30AM

Returning to Happs Place: 11:30 AM, 12:00 PM

John’s Jump Falls (and DEW Falls)

Discover this easy 0.5-mile out-and-back trail near our Mountain Fall Resort. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 12 min to complete! This trail is great for hiking and walking, and the best thing is it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

This route first travels along John's Jump Trail to visit a beautiful cascade along Mill Creek. The route is short and the base of the falls makes for A GREAT SUMMER SWIMMING HOLE.
The Dew Falls Trail #281 is right up the street and visits an equally as stunning waterfall located at the end of another short approach trail.

Directions: From the Resort, turn left on 64, drive two miles to NC 281/Whitewater Rd for five miles and pull off at the large grassy knoll on the left, just before Whitewater Church Road. Climb the hill to the right of the telephone pole and enter the woods on the tiny path before you. Waterfall GPS N35.06781 W-83.00732

Catawba Falls Trail

a rewarding 3 mile hike with stunning Mountain View’s, an easy trail for beginners with beautiful views throughout and dog friendly too! The falls are beautiful, the sound alone soothes your soul.
Plenty of free parking and entry is also free. There are bathrooms in the parking lot. Definitely bring water with you to stay hydrated

While the hurricane damage is obvious, the trail still has so much to offer.

A solid must do for all nature lovers.
