Our Pure Michigan April showers will of course, bring us our genuine Harbor Country® May flowers. They will also give us the seasonal pleasure of using more flours too no matter if it's all-purpose, whole wheat, gluten free, etc. Our flour-fluffed doughs then allow us the privilege of sweetening it with things like fresh fruit like our homemade Blackberry Scones baked with tart and nutritious blackberries. Each scone is then blossomed off before going in the oven with a sweet crust of more half & half and dark brown sugar for an extra Spring flower of flavor.

Sugar and spice and everything nice. Well, our latest baked creation also defines the meaning of that traditional cliche with flying colors and flavors too. Our homemade Spice Muffins feature a dense blend of spices like cardamom, cinnamon, ground ginger, even chewy tendrils of crystallized ginger and of course, allspice. Maple syrup and molasses are also added as typically sweet ingredients. And to make everything in these muffins even nicer, we added a cupful of Guinness Stout to the batter. A traditional as well as a tasty pleasant surprise.

For over 30+ years, we've let the good times roll at the White Rabbit Inn Bed and Breakfast so now as a holy holiday hops this way with a herd of other happy rabbits, we're baking our way to prove that blonde bunnies have more fun and flavor too with our homemade Banana Bread Blondies. Carmelized with large, over ripe but sweet and easy to cook bananas along with white and brown sugar, the pleasantly dense batter is also incorporated with toasted walnuts and mini chocolate chips. The resulting banana-riffic breakfast blondies produce our own rabbity message: Buona Pasqua a tutti!

Award-winning, Broadway script writers have asked, "What's the story, morning glory?" and "What's the word, hummingbird?" Well, the story about our irresistible homemade Morning Glory Muffins include a waterfall of nutritious words like shredded carrot, shredded apple, toasted shredded coconut, toasted walnuts and raisins. All of these flavor packed veggies, fruits and nuts are then combined with all-purpose and whole wheat flour, ground cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, salt, whole milk, dark brown sugar, two eggs and coconut oil. Any Pure Michigan apple will surely help keep health care providers at bay, especially when they're cored, sliced and layered on top of protein rich Greek yogurt and whisked together with additional high protein almond nut butter, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon and organic Pure Michigan maple syrup. Our homemade Apple Nut Butter Whip Toast is served over wholesome, whole grain wheat toast then drizzled on top with more maple syrup, antioxidant and vitamin rich dried cranberries and heart and bone beneficial and inflammation reducing, roasted chopped hazelnuts. Another nutritious breakfast fruit and fiber feast for our guests.

The annual tradition of honoring and celebrating "Erin go Bragh" is approaching now. So we served our guests two lucky charms that are magically delicious in a tribute to St.Paddy's upcoming day. Our homemade Irish Guinness™ Loaf was baked with Dublin's famous smooth and creamy stout along with molasses, hearty rolled oats and buttermilk. Sliced up as a quick and easy brown bread, it partnered well with our scrumptious Irish Cream Scones homemade and infused with another original creamy beverage from the Emerald Isle; Baileys® Irish Cream. And not only was the liqueur added in the dough with butterscotch chips, the scones were even more decadent glazed with the same dual ingredients. Sláinte from White Rabbit Inn Bed and Breakfast!

Since our Pure Michigan and Harbor Country® month of March came in like a lion today, we sweetened up today's snowy Saturday shivers with two breakfast entrees that provided our guests with a heartwarming defense against freezing cold, outdoor chills. Our homemade Orange Chocolate Scones are bursting with fresh orange flavor via orange extract, fresh orange juice and fresh orange zest along with mini chocolate chips. Served alongside our scones were our homemade Hazelnut Chocolate Breakfast Bars, baked with oats, oat flour, brown sugar, chopped hazelnuts, creamy butter and hazelnut chocolate spread sandwiched between each layer of the assembled oat mixure. Both delicious breakfast entrees along with fresh hot cups of coffee, tea and/or hot cocoa performed remarkably well as perfect March 1st lion taming remedies,

In observance of 'Fat Tuesday', 'Fat Thursday' and/or all the other non-skinny days in our lives, we served our guests an inspired tribute to the iconic, Big Bayou dessert well known as Bananas Foster with our own homemade Bananas Foster Banana Bread. Prepped with ripe mashed bananas infused with rich, deep flavors of melted butter, dark brown sugar, vanilla bean paste, cinnamon and dark rum, our loaf was also topped with additional banana slices before being baked and then brushed with a lucious dark rum glaze after exiting the oven. And although our glossy caramel coated bread with cooked sugar and booze is an irresistable "Fat Day" homage, we also expanded its dietary appeal by making it gluten free too.
