Twelve years ago I became a single mom after alchohol took my husband. Despite the struggle, I was determined to do whatever it took to be able to stay home and raise my family. I began flipping houses which led us to purchasing Black Oak Lodge six years ago. It was a run down property that took us 3 years to complete. My girls and I did all of the work ourselves from siding, doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, plumbing.. we learned to do it all. We could never afford to pay anyone to help us, so we had to learn how to do everything ourselves. Ill never forget my first time running machinery. After getting outrageous bids and quotes to clear a lot, I thought surely I can rent a machine. Surely, what an operator could do in a day, I could do in a week! I remember asking the rental place so how do you start and run this thing. š I think they were scared and majorly surprised to come back and see I had cleared the entire lot! Never be afraid to take a leap of faith. Donāt be afraid to step outside the box. Had I listened to all the people who told me we couldnāt do it, we wouldnāt be here today. Instead, we put all of our faith and trust in God! This property holds so many memories and has been one of the greatest blessings to our family. Itās been a joy to be able to share it with so many others. We canāt thank you all enough for so many wonderful memories. As this chapter in our lives is coming to a close, we are looking forward to the next road God leads us down. As of the end of September, we are selling and closing our doors. We are excited to see what God does next! His plans are always greater than we could ever imagine! Thank you all again for blessing us beyond measure and for allowing us to be able to bless so many others! As we were transforming homes, God was transforming lives!
