The attic had antiquated wiring which started the fire. The main areas were updated but the attic was not. It was a ticking time bomb and we are lucky it happened during a shut down! This cross survived the fire which we found most reassuring.

Well, luckily the structural damage is limited to the attic and roof. We can repair! Of course the smoke and water damage is quite bad too, but at least she is still here. The fire was caused by old wiring in attic. Everything else was brought up to code 50 years ago, but not in attic. It was a fire just waiting to ignite.
