That’s a wrap on Open House and Bethlehem Marketplace for 2025! We had roughly 400 guest and over 60 volunteers this year. We want to thank you all for starting your Christmas Holiday with our Family! We look forward to seeing each of you next year!

Power outage, no problem! We are fully up and running. Can’t cook supper tonight, that’s fine come on out. We are about 20 minutes behind schedule so next show I’ll be around 7:35 and last show at 8:20. When the devil tries to intervene, God shows he has got this!

Well tonight did not start the way we had planned. The power went out right as we were beginning the first show. Currently our area is experiencing a complete outage, however we are prepared and fully up and running on the generator. So, come on out tonight and watch the show. We have power and food during this outage!

It takes a village and we have one of the best villages around. We could not do this without our cast. If you didn’t make it tonight, come out tomorrow night and witness the magic of it all! Jesus came as a baby, coming again as KING!!!

Behind the scenes part two…. Let’s meet the boys who do the heavy lifting! Every year there is a lot of prep work that goes into getting ready for open house. The barn has to be cleaned out and set up, the deer assembled , the lights put on the house, the yard ornaments set out, but that’s not all! There is so much work that it takes weeks of preparation, but it is all rewarding in the end. We have two guys that are the key backbone to the operation. First up Marvin, he is the middle child of Roy Charles and Dianne Catoe, as well as the only son. Marvin is the MacGyver of the family. He can always find a way to solve a solution. During open house you will find Marvin in the sound booth in the barn. Next up we have Simon, the son of Marvin. Simon is the “make a plan and get it done” part of the operations. From painting, cutting out the deer antlers (yes, this seems like a yearly thing due to the damage the wind does to them) to coming up with new ideas, Simon follows in his dad’s footsteps as a Mr Fix It! During open house you will find Simon playing the role of Young Jesus, singing and rising up from the grave, because we know that Jesus is Alive! While Simon and Marvin are more involved in the day to day operations, there are several more guys that help make this possible. Some weekends you will find the Son-In-Laws, Grandsons, and Grandsons-In-Law of Roy Charles and Dianne hard at work helping to prepare! Whether it is changing out the electrical, hanging Christmas lights or helping clean up, each guy in the family plays a part. Even the littlest guys of the family play a roll, from supervising the outside work, to sampling the christmas goodies, and even providing entertainment, there is always a good laugh with these little fellas! We could not do this without the guys of the family!!

Getting ready for Bethlehem Marketplace and Open House. Some of the faces you may not see include the daughters of Roy Charles and Dianne Catoe. That’s because they are working behind the scenes. Let’s meet Peggy (far right), she is the oldest child of Roy Charles and Dianne Catoe. Peggy is one of the many kitchen workers making those yummy Christmas goodies that you get to enjoy. Next we have Vickie (far left), she is the youngest child. You might catch a glimpse of her making the hot apple cider or hot chocolate, in the cast room passing out costumes, or in the barn with a camera taking pictures. And finally we have the matriarch of the family, Mrs Dianne Catoe herself (middle). The lady who had the vision to put this whole thing together. Without her, this would have never been possible. If you see her, make sure to say hey! Stay tune for more behind the scenes!

Have you ever wondered what Bethlehem Marketplace is all about? Here is a glimpse of the show from 2009, which was the 10th year we had been putting on the show.

We had to take a year off in 2020, so technically this is the 25th year that we have put on Bethlehem Marketplace. We would love to see each and every one of you this Friday and Saturday.
