Our quiet country retreat house sleeps 7 and you don't have to share it with anyone. Newly renovated 1918 house in the quaint little town of Highland, MN located 12 miles outside of Lanesboro. Enjoy the old world charm of real pine wood floors and stained windows in a quiet country setting. Creativity areas on main floor equipped with new swivel office chairs and 6 foot tables. 3 bedrooms and 1

1/2 baths (one on each floor). Sleeps 6 in individual twin beds. Full kitchen available for cooking or potluck meals. Quilting amenities: 2 ironing boards and irons available

Scrapbooking amenities: Cricut + cartridges, computer, printer, wi-fi

Grand opening set for October 15, 2013. Able to start taking reservations by phone or email. Price: $200/night for whole house (sleeps 6)

As I am cleaning the house for what will probably be the last guests of the year, I am feeling thankful. After a couple of down years, I was wondering if I should continue down the same path with this house. Fate came back with my answer as I had my 2nd best year in 2025. Each year I continue to make things a little bit better, a little more comfortable, a little newer and improved. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes it's behind the scenes. So Monday The Hen House Retreat will.get a new furnace with CENTRAL AIR!! No more window air conditioners!! We will also be getting a new water softener, although not as exciting ;) Thank you everyone for your support , kind words, and appreciation shown towards our little getaway ♡

There is always something to do at The Hen House. Whether its replacing blinds because the last group's toddler thought they were fun to play with or bringing a bed to the main level for a 93 year old guest coming to stay. We try to accommodate everyone the best that we can.
