❄️🌲 Winter is coming to Ripple Creek Campground… and yes, we’ll be OPEN! 🌲❄️

If you’ve only experienced the Black Hills in the warmer months, you’re in for something pretty special. There’s a whole different kind of magic here when the forest is covered in snow, the roads get quiet, and everything feels just a little slower.

Whether you’re coming to the Hills for snowmobiling, hunting, winter exploration, trail adventures, or quiet time away, Ripple Creek makes the perfect place to come “home” to at the end of the day.

Spend your day out exploring, then come back to your warm and cozy heated cabin. Settle in with a hot cup of coffee or cocoa while you work on a puzzle as the snow settles outside the window.

This is Chip.
Chip decided he wanted to live in the Eagle’s Nest.
Chip tried to make nests in the chairs.
Chip left fly wings and legs all over the chairs during snack time.
Don’t be like chip.

(Chip has finally fulfilled his eviction notice. No chipmunks were harmed in the process.)

Located in the northern Black Hills just south of the Dumont Trailhead on N. Rochford Road, this peaceful campground offers a welcoming home base for outdoor adventures. Situated directly across from the Mickelson Trail, the campground provides easy access to miles of scenic trails, outdoor recreation, historic sites, and the beautiful landscapes that draw visitors to the Black Hills year-round.

The campground features refreshed cabins, full-hookup RV sites, and open-field tent camping, along with amenities designed to make every stay comfortable and enjoyable. Guests can gather around the communal fire pit, fire up the grills or pizza oven, or relax in the welcoming pavilion with a cup of morning coffee. Light snacks, quick breakfast options, and locally made pizza are also available, making it easy for guests to fuel up before heading out for their next Black Hills adventure.
