Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are in effect across all of Lake County, and we know the first question is: can I still have a campfire?

Here's the short answer. Yes, but only in a permanent, approved metal or concrete fire grate at a developed campground or recreation site. If there's a fire ring already built into the ground at your paid campsite, you're good. If you're dispersed camping, outside of a developed site, that's not allowed under Stage 1.

Gas and propane stoves are fine anywhere.

When in doubt, check conditions before you head out. Stage 1 can move to Stage 2 quickly.
