Last Friday, we had the honor of spending one final day with long-time Lebanon Police Officer and Cedar City Lodge member, Dewayne Bowen. Officer Bowen dedicated 29 years to law enforcement, with 24 of those years serving the Lebanon Police Department. He has been a committed member of the Fraternal Order of Police since the beginning of his career. While we are saddened by his departure, we are pleased that he can now retire and enjoy his well-deserved hobbies. We would like to thank R_Tac for supplying the Cedar City Lodge with a retirement gift and for the custom engraving!

The Cedar City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #83 and Sam Houston Lodge #71 are proud to endorse Representative Clark Boyd for re-election. Representative Boyd has consistently demonstrated his unwavering support for the law enforcement community. He has been accessible and open to addressing the concerns of law enforcement professionals regarding relevant legislation.

Representative Boyd has also prioritized attending law enforcement events, such as the annual Wilson County Police Memorial Service, to honor fallen officers and their families. Furthermore, he has actively sponsored and co-sponsored legislation favorable to law enforcement. Notable bills from the last session include the Back the Blue Act, which increases mandatory jail time and fines for those who assault police officers, and the Hazard Duty Retirement Supplement, now available to both police officers and firefighters when their local governing body opts into the program.

We have also observed Representative Boyd's steadfast commitment to the citizens of his district. His values, character, and integrity align with the principles cherished by the law enforcement community. We respectfully urge our fellow citizens to support and vote for Clark Boyd-State Representative District 46 for Tennessee House District 46.

It is with great sorrow to inform you of this tragic incident. Officer Myers was dedicated to his job and will be greatly missed by us all. We ask for prayers for his family.

The Lebanon Police Department is devastated to share the passing of Officer Brendan Myers after an off-duty single-vehicle accident today on Aviation Way. Please lift up his family, loved ones, and our entire police department in your thoughts and prayers as we grieve this unimaginable loss.

Officer Brendan Myers was a three-year veteran of the Lebanon Police Department.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has been asked to investigate the cause of the crash.

Officer Myers was incredibly passionate about serving this city and its citizens, and his love for this community was evident through his daily actions as a police officer. It’s times like these that remind us of how close knit our community is.

The War on Cops rages on, another three officers were shot in Summit, MS. The first officer was simply doing his job when the suspect drove up and shot the officer, who did not survive.

Two additional officers arrived and engaged the suspect in a gun fight. Those officers received non life threatening injuries and the suspect was eliminated.

The violence against law enforcement in America is out of control.

Statistics show that a City Officer working a Wednesday or Thursday in August are more likely to get shot than any other law enforcement officer on any other given day. To ensure the safety of our law enforcement officers and their return home at the end of their shifts, it is imperative that we lead the charge in legislative reform. Our mission is to enact laws that prevent violent criminals from repeatedly reentering our communities after committing multiple violent felonies. By addressing this issue through robust legislation, we can create a safer environment for both our officers and the citizens they serve.

It's truly disheartening when some of those in power fail to protect those who dedicate their lives to serving our communities. The increasing attacks on our Law Enforcement Officers are indeed a cause for concern, and it's clear that change is necessary. Supporting Local, State, and National Fraternal Order of Police lodges in their fight for a safer tomorrow is crucial to ensure our loved ones return home safely after selflessly serving others.
