Meet one of Lundy’s frequent feeder flyers, the black headed grosbeak! 🐦 They are a funny little bird with an amazing song voice, but (in this case) also a chittery nibble noise in the bird feeder that we here at Lundy consider our own version of ASMR 😆

Pickup your free Lundy Canyon Bird checklist at the Lundy Lake Resort store and maybe a refreshment or two and then head down to the boat launch to meet the birding guide.

We’re falling in love with Lundy Falls all over again this week! Despite a fast, warm and early spring-summer melt, the falls are still a stunner this time of year… and will continue to be as the canyon transforms for every season.

Lundy Canyon is known for amazing spring-summer-fall transformations that leave visitors with view-induced speechlessness. Now, it’s all about the waterfalls, beaver pond network, and canyon views. Earlier, it was all about the spring wildflowers. Soon, season will be here and her aspen groves will shine with striking color change. It just means you have to (ahem, we mean, “get” to!) come back more than once to see all she has to offer!

Ready to hike? Stop by the Lundy Lake Resort (LLR) | Camping, RV Sites, Cabins + more store for hiking/viewpoint tips before hitting the trail (and post-hike souvenirs). There are porta-potties at trailhead, but come prepared to pack your trash (including dog p**p and food!) in/out so you leave no trace, and keep Lundy the wild, gem of the she is.

About jellyfish clouds: The round body is altocumulus clouds, paired with tentacle-looking wispy virga clouds (droplets that fall from the cloud but evaporate into dry air before ever hitting the ground) make the coolest combo! (Thanks The Weather Channel for the description when I looked this up!)
