If you’re spending a few days with us, we’ll be happy to point you toward some of the many fascinating historic and cultural towns in the area. While Jim Thorpe is the closest and certainly worth a visit, it’s far from the only place where you can enjoy an afternoon or evening exploring unique shops, historic sites, restaurants, and local culture.

We’re especially happy to see our hometown of Bethlehem receiving the recognition it deserves. Just about a 45-minute country drive from here, Bethlehem is rich in history, art, shopping, wonderful restaurants, and festivals throughout the year.

We’re also thrilled that Historic Moravian Bethlehem has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Some of the Moravians’ early homes and houses of worship remain, along with a colonial industrial quarter that includes a mill, tannery, and blacksmith shop. UNESCO describes these beautifully preserved stone buildings as “the first permanent, best-preserved, and most important Moravian Church settlement in North America.”

Bethlehem is a very special place to us. We grew up in this small town, known as The Christmas City, and our father worked as a welder in the blast furnaces of Bethlehem Steel. His hard work helped provide the wonderful life we enjoyed as children, and the history and character of Bethlehem remain a meaningful part of who we are today.

We have such fond memories of visiting historic Bethlehem as schoolchildren, especially the magical candlelit tours, where we carried beeswax candles through the historic streets. Even today, the wonderful scent of beeswax instantly takes us back to our childhood. It’s a smell we absolutely love—and one that holds a special place in our hearts.

So, on your next stay, plan to explore the region and make a few days of it! There’s so much history, character, and beauty to discover, and we’d love for you to experience some of the places that mean so much to us.

Bethlehem showcases its industrial heritage and picturesque Main Street. It’s a twinkly Christmastime destination and home to one of the newest UNESCO sites in the US.

How could you not love an evening like that? ❤️🎶

The weather was absolutely perfect, and The BC Combo and Big Bone Daddy delivered the kind of music that gives you goosebumps. If you were there, you know exactly what we mean!

But one of our favorite parts of the night was all of you—dancing in your seats, dancing in place, and ripping up the dance floor, and simply soaking up every minute of live music at The Wilds.

Your continued support of local musicians and this little gem tucked away in our little mountain town, in tiny Carbon County, continues to put The Wilds on the map. And we couldn't be more grateful.

We absolutely love bringing these two bands together. They're incredibly talented musicians, but they're also true friends, and there's something pretty special about watching them have just as much fun as the audience. Musicians work incredibly hard at their craft, and nights like this remind us why live music is so special.

And what a wonderful surprise to see Eliza Rush take a little time away from her continuing rise to the top to come out and enjoy the show with us!

To the bands, to everyone behind the scenes, and especially to all of you who keep showing up and supporting what we're building here...

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! ❤️

Another beautiful night at The Wilds in the books.

We'd love to see your videos and pictures of your good times from yesterday; please share them in the comments.😍

All of this. Thank you, Big Bone Daddy and The BC Combo, for always putting out an evening of incredible music to entertain all of these wonderful people who come to our venue to kick back and enjoy music as it was meant to be.

We love all of you and your unwavering energy!😍

What a night at The Inn at Birch Wilds! 🎶🌲

Gorgeous weather, great people, great music, and a whole lot of fun. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening to kick back, play some tunes, and share the night with all of you.

A huge THANK YOU to The Inn at Birch Wilds for having us and for being such incredible hosts. The setting is beautiful, the hospitality is top-notch, and you made Big Bone Daddy and the The BC Combo feel right at home once again!

And to everyone who came out, grabbed a seat, stayed awhile, listened, laughed, and supported live local music…thank you. You’re the reason we get to keep doing what we love. ❤️🎸🎷

We had an absolute blast and hope we get to do it all over again in the future!

Until next time, Birch Wilds! 🍻🎶

.What do we love most about the little town of Jim Thorpe? It has to be the ever-evolving, effortlessly cool vibe of this beautiful Victorian town.

Around every corner, there’s something to discover, a cozy spot to grab a drink, a great bite to eat, live music to enjoy, or a glimpse into the incredible local arts community.

One of our favorite stops is Marion Hose Bar, tucked inside a beautifully restored historic firehouse. Grab a drink, find a seat in their charming courtyard, and enjoy people-watching in Jim Thorpe! 😍

It’s places like this that give Jim Thorpe its one-of-a-kind personality. ❤️

Rotary Club of Jim Thorpe Ghost Walk! 👻
A beautiful guided walking tour through the Victorian village of Jim Thorpe. Hear the chilling stories and legends of the town’s history as you walk down the sidewalks and meet the previous residents of the Little Switzerland of America.

The one-mile, round trip, walks start at the Inn at Jim Thorpe, 24 Broadway. Led by a costumed storyteller with a lantern, the walks, all outside, last about an hour, unless the spirits have other ideas!

While not scary, the Ghost Walk is not recommended for children under 7 because they get distracted by some of the longer stories. Attentive children are certainly welcome.

100% of proceeds benefit the Jim Thorpe community!
