Lake View Lodge is a beautiful log house overlooking Beltzville Lake and State Game Lands in the Southern Poconos. The property is quite and secluded, yet close to all the activities the Southern Poconos has to offer at your fingertips. Beltzville Lake and State Park are truly beautiful and peaceful, and yet are only 1.5 hours from Philadelphia, and 2 hours from New York City. The lodge is such a

short drive away from many major cities, and yet, so far removed from the hustle and bustle of every-day life. Beltzville lake is part of many happy memories of picnics, swimming, hiking, boating, and fishing at the lake! The house is ideal for spending quality time together with family and friends, and yet allows for alone-time if that is what you are looking for. The dining room opens to the back deck, which overlooks the 8-mile long Beltzville Lake. There are hiking trails all around the lake, and you can walk to the lake right from the house. The State Park and swimming area are just two miles from the house, and there are picnic areas, swimming areas, and boat rentals available during the summer months. In the winter, Blue Mountain Ski Area is just 8 miles from the house, and Big Boulder and Camelback are just a bit further. The scenic, historic town of Jim Thorpe is just 11 miles from the house, with an abundance of restaurants, art galleries, and museums. For the nature enthusiast, there are biking trails, white water rafting, kayaking, and paint ball all within 15 minutes from the house. Groups or families may rent all six bedrooms and an optional private suite. Each of the six bedrooms is equipped with private bathroom, balcony, fireplace, and Cable TV, and some with DVD players. In addition, a separate large suite consisting of a bedroom, family room, a bathroom and a walk-in closet is available for a premium. The focal point of the great room/dining room area is a 26-foot double-sided stone fireplace. The great room is fully furnished with comfortable seating, and the dining room is furnished with a dining table and chairs able to seat 12 people. The eat-in kitchen is fully furnished, including kitchen table and chairs, refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, double ovens, stove top, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and four-slice toaster.

Dubbed the "Switzerland of America" because of its picturesque landscape and quaint European-style architecture, Jim Thorpe attracts visitors year-round, here to explore popular tourist spots such as the historic Asa Packer Mansion Museum. Built in 1861, this stunning example of Victorian architecture was the home of a prominent local entrepreneur and philanthropist and offers guided tours that showcase original furnishings.

Another must-visit is the Old Jail Museum, famous for its eerie handprint (ask the guide for details!) and its role in the trial of the Molly Maguires, a group of miners from Ireland who were accused of being part of a secret society in the 1870s. The museum's guided tours are both informative and chilling and also provide a fascinating look into Pennsylvania's mining history. Also fun is the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, an especially lovely train ride during the fall foliage season.
