North Shore Lodge provides a round-trip boat launching service.

Enjoy the beautiful white sandy beaches and clear blue waters of Nebraska's Lake McConaughy (Big Mac) at North Shore Lodge - camping, RV park, rental units, convenience store, fuel, mobile home park, restaurant and lounge right on the water's edge. Our tractors can pick up your boat at your campsite, trailer or cabin and deliver you back when you're ready to come in for the day. CABIN/MOBILE HOME

RENTALS:
Enjoy a relaxing night's sleep after a day at the beach in one of our air-conditioned cabins or mobile home units. We'll supply the cooking utensils, the pots and pans and linens. Each unit also has a grill, picnic table, satellite TV and air conditioning. The lake is within a couple hundred yards from most of the cabin locations and they are within easy walking distance to the convenience store, restaurant & lounge. We have several cabins available which can accommodate one to ten people. Pets are welcome but must be on a leash at all times. An additional fee of $10.00 per day per pet is required. North Shore Residents:

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Golf carts and UTVs permitted on the beach at North Shore is a privilege given to us by Game and Parks. We are not entitled to these privileges.

Recently we have had two circumstances involving North Shore residents and their guests, where the individuals have driven at night out of the North Shore concession area. They were pulled over by local law enforcement and given citations.

Nebraska Game and Parks has put North Shore on notice that one more incident and we will lose our beach access privileges.

Going forward for the 2026 season we will NOT allow NSL plated golf carts and UTVs on the beach after dusk. If you would like to go to the beach after dusk you can use one of your licensed and plated vehicles.

Anyone violating this rule will be revoked of their NSL plate for the remainder of the year.

This your community please help spread the word that no golf cart/UTVs will be allowed on the beach after dusk.

We will clearly define the boundaries to the east and west with flags on ropes going forward.

Keep in mind your golf cart/side-by-side with the NSL plate is your responsibility whether you are driving it or a family member or guest is driving it. It is your responsibility to make sure that everyone is educated about the rules in North Shore.

Rattlesnake on the Beach

(LAKE MCCONNAUGHY, Neb.) -- At 5:00 pm mountain on July 23rd, this photo of a rattlesnake was taken from the Ogallala Beach area.

Please be very aware of your surroundings while enjoying the lake. They’re out, and this heat will have them looking for water and cool places as the summer continues.
