It is with great sadness that I must refrain from attending this spring coolie. I suffered a heart attack 5 Feb, two stents were required to restore adequate blood flow and heart function. Tomorrow I complete my second week of rehab, things are progressing nicely. I must acknowledge my mortality, yet I look forward to a excellent recovery. With affection to all, Larry.

UPDATE: Due to the generosity of the Post Commander and bar manager of VFW Post 7397, the Celebration of Life (5pm-7pm) and Spring Hoolie (7pm-11pm) both will be held in the VWF main event hall located on the East side of the building facing Pflumm Rd.

To celebrate the life of our fallen brother, Dan Robertson, our Hoolie this year will serve as both a party and a celebration of life so we can all listen to brilliant music and pay respects one of our beloved founders. Dan was the original creator of the Hoolie so it feels right we honor his memory there.

The Celebration of Life for Dan Robertson will be from 5pm to 7pm, and will be followed by the Spring Hoolie starring our talented friends/family Tullamore from 7pm to 11pm.

It all kicks off this Saturday, February 11th and will be held at the VFW Post 7397 located at 9550 Pflumm Rd, Lenexa, KS, 66215 in the event hall located off of the parking lot at the front of the building on the East side facing Pflumm Rd.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!

It’s with great sorrow and a heavy heart that we bid farewell to one of our founding members, Dan Robertson.

Dan served in the United States Marine Corps, and after completing his service, began to visit The Kansas City Renaissance Fair with his two closest friends Larry and Pat. The trio would go on to make an army of friends and family… and eventually form The Rogues Gallery of Kansas City.

He was a brother, a friend, and most importantly… he was family. We wish him smooth sailing over calm seas, and though he is missed here… we’re happy knowing that he will meet with his Brother Patrick Patterson in the hereafter... and maybe sneak the rest of us in when it is our time.

We know Dan touched many in his life… so feel free to respond with a favorite story or memory of him to this thread.

Additionally, please respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time, and hold off on contacting them. They need time to grieve. Thank you so much.
